JOB OVERVIEW

ROLE OVERVIEW

As a Photo Editor at oCommerce, you'll play a critical role in shaping how customers perceive our
brands. Every image that reaches our website, advertisements, emails, and social media will pass
through your hands. Your edits won't simply make images look "better"—they'll make them feel current,
aspirational, and worthy of today's premium consumer brands.
This role requires far more than technical Photoshop skills. You'll need an exceptional eye for color,
lighting, composition, skin tones, retouching, and visual storytelling, combined with a deep
understanding of current U.S. creative trends. You'll constantly ask yourself, "Would this look at home on
the Instagram feed of a leading American brand?"
You'll collaborate closely with photographers, designers, social media specialists, ecommerce managers,
and creative leadership to ensure every asset is polished, consistent, and ready for every marketing
channel.
Our brands primarily serve customers in the United States, and our creative direction reflects the
expectations of the U.S. fashion and ecommerce market—not local editing trends. We're looking for
editors who regularly follow leading American brands, photographers, and creative studios. Your work
should feel modern, clean, premium, and culturally relevant—never over-filtered, over-retouched, or
visually dated. Technical proficiency is only half the job. Great photo editors understand taste. They
know how to create imagery that feels aspirational, scroll-stopping, and aligned with the visual language
of today's best U.S. brands.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
— Professionally edit product photography, lifestyle imagery, and campaign assets across
multiple consumer brands.
— Perform high-end color correction, exposure balancing, retouching, skin tone refinement, and
compositing.
— Ensure images maintain a natural, premium appearance while remaining commercially effective.
— Match editing styles across entire photoshoots for consistency.
— Remove distractions, enhance products, and prepare images for ecommerce, advertising, email,
social media, and print.
— Collaborate with photographers and creative leadership to achieve the intended visual direction.
— Adapt editing styles to reflect each brand's unique identity and target customer.
— Prepare production-ready assets optimized for web, social platforms, and print.
— Organize and maintain digital asset libraries and editing workflows.
— Continuously research U.S. fashion, beauty, lifestyle, and ecommerce creative trends.
— Leverage AI-powered editing tools where appropriate without compromising quality or authenticity.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
— 5+ years of professional photo editing experience.
— Expert proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Lightroom.
— Strong understanding of professional retouching techniques, color grading, masking, compositing,
and non-destructive editing workflows.
— Experience editing ecommerce, fashion, beauty, lifestyle, or consumer product photography.
— Strong understanding of lighting, composition, and visual storytelling.
— Ability to maintain consistency across large batches of campaign imagery.
— Exceptional attention to detail and production accuracy.
— Experience preparing assets for both digital and print production.
— Strong organizational and file management skills.
— Portfolio demonstrating high-end commercial photo editing is required.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
— Someone with exceptional visual taste and an instinct for what feels modern.
— A photo editor who follows U.S. fashion, lifestyle, beauty, and ecommerce brands to understand
where visual trends are heading.
— Someone who can instantly recognize when an edit feels dated, over-retouched, or inconsistent
with premium American brands.
— Strong understanding of different brand aesthetics and the ability to adapt your editing style
accordingly.
— Highly detail-oriented with uncompromising quality standards.
— Ownership mentality—you don't stop refining an image until you're proud to put your name behind
it.
— Collaborative and comfortable receiving creative feedback.
— Curious about new editing techniques, AI tools, and emerging creative technologies.
— Passionate about creating imagery that captures attention and builds desire.

WHAT WE OFFER
— Opportunity to edit creative assets seen by customers around the world.
— Work across multiple premium consumer brands with distinct visual identities.
— Collaborate closely with photographers, designers, marketers, and creative leadership.
— Access to modern creative tools and AI-powered editing workflows.
— Competitive salary with performance-based incentives.
— Clear opportunities for career growth within our creative organization.
— Paid time off and company-recognized holidays.
— Continuous learning and professional development.
— A collaborative culture built around creativity, ownership, and excellence.
OUR HIRING PROCESS
1. Submit your application along with your editing portfolio.
2. Introductory interview with our recruiting team.
3. Portfolio review with our creative leadership.
4. Practical editing assessment using raw images from one of our actual photoshoots. You'll be asked
to produce edits suitable for ecommerce, paid advertising, and social media while maintaining our
brand aesthetic.
5. Final interview with executive leadership.
6. Reference checks.
7. Offer and onboarding.
