Hey, we’re Atmos, a small family-run business in New Zealand making handmade guitar straps.
We’re looking for an experienced video editor to work with us long term, starting at around 20 hours per week.
Most of the work will be creating ads for
We’re looking for someone who has experience editing Meta ads for ecommerce brands and understands the strategy behind a good ad, not just the technical side of editing.
I don’t want to have to plan every cut or tell you exactly how to make each ad. I want someone who can look through our footage, understand the angle we’re trying to communicate and come up with their own ideas for turning it into an effective ad.
What we're looking for
You should have a good understanding of:
- Meta/Facebook and Instagram advertising
- Direct-response ecommerce ads
- Creating strong hooks, especially in the opening few seconds
- UGC-style advertising
- Pacing and keeping attention
- Using captions and on-screen text effectively
- Product and offer positioning
- Social proof and customer review ads
- Calls to action
- Testing different hooks, angles and ad structures
- Taking a winning ad and creating new variations of it
- Understanding basic ad performance metrics such as CPA, CTR and ROAS
- Using performance results to help d
You’ll be creating things like UGC ads, product-focused ads, gift ads, customer review ads, brand/handmade ads and new variations of creatives that are already performing well.
We care more about quality and performance than simply producing as many videos as possible, but we will be producing a good volume of new creative every week.
I also want the finished ads to feel real and authentic. Please don’t use obviously AI-generated images, video, voices or other elements in the ads. Using AI tools behind the scenes to help with your workflow is completely fine, but the finished ads shouldn’t look or sound AI-generated.
Pay and hours:
US$12–18/hour depending on experience
Starting at approximately 20 hours per week.
This is a long-term position, with the opportunity for more hours and increased pay if things go well.
I’d like to find someone who can learn our brand, understand what works with our customers and eventually become our go-to editor.
It’s completely fine if you have other clients or work. I just need someone who can reliably commit to the agreed workload and turn work around consistently.
Paid test:
Before hiring, I’ll choose a small number of applicants to complete a paid editing test.
You’ll be given the same raw footage and a basic brief. I want to see how you approach the ad yourself, including the hook, footage selection, structure, pacing and overall concept.
I’m interested in your creative judgement and understanding of advertising, not just your technical editing ability.
To apply
Please send:
- 3–5 of the best Meta ads you’ve edited for ecommerce brands
- Your hourly rate
- A little about your experience creating paid social ads
- Any experience you have using ad performance data to guide your editing or creative decisions
- What editing software you use
- Your usual turnaround time
- What other ongoing work or clients you currently have
Please send actual ecommerce ads rather than a general editing showreel.
