About the role
We're looking for a skilled and results-driven Performance Video Editor to join our team. This is a high-output, fast-paced role built for someone who lives and breathes video content — specifically for paid advertising. You'll be responsible for transforming raw video footage into high-converting ad creatives across multiple platforms, at volume.
This isn't a traditional video editing role. You'll need to think like a media buyer, edit like a creative director, and move fast. If you understand why one hook outperforms another, know when to cut for attention and how to use b-roll to reinforce a message — this role was made for you.
What you'll be doing
- Edit 30–40+ short-form and long-form video ad creatives per week, maintaining consistent quality across all outputs.
- Take a single piece of raw video content and repurpose it into 10 distinct ad creatives with varied hooks, pacing, formats, and messaging angles
- Craft compelling 3-second hooks that stop the scroll and capture immediate attention across
- Source, select, and integrate relevant b-roll footage to strengthen storytelling, reinforce key messages, and improve viewer retention
- Add and style on-screen captions, text overlays, and motion graphics to improve accessibility and engagement
- Edit to platform-specific formats and aspect ratios (9:16, 1:1, 16:9) ensuring each creative is optimised for its intended placement
- Collaborate with the creative and media buying teams to iterate on top-performing concepts and evolve underperforming creatives
- Organise and manage video assets, project files, and deliverables through our content management system
Stay up to date with the latest ad creative trends, viral hooks, and platform best practices to keep our content fresh and competitive
- What we're looking for
- Proven experience editing performance-focused video ads (portfolio or examples required)
- Deep understanding of what makes a hook work within the first 3 seconds
- Ability to work at high volume without compromising quality or consistency
- Strong eye for b-roll selection — knowing exactly when and how to use it
- Proficient in Premiere Pro, Final Cut, or DaVinci Resolve
- Experience editing for Meta, TikTok, and YouTube ad placements
- Highly organised with strong time management skills
- Ability to take creative briefs and execute with minimal back-and-forth
Bonus skills
- Experience working within a media buying or performance marketing team
- Basic motion graphics or After Effects knowledge
- Understanding of direct response copywriting principles
- Familiarity with ad creative testing frameworks (A/B, multivariate)
- Experience with CapCut or similar mobile-first editing tools
- Background in UGC or creator content editing
You'll thrive in this role if you...
- Obsess over why some videos stop the scroll and others don't
- Can spot a winning hook angle from raw footage before a single cut is made
- Take pride in the quality of your work even when the timeline is tight
- Are self-managed, proactive, and don't need to be micromanaged to hit your output targets
- Get genuinely excited watching your edits produce results in ad accounts
How to apply
Please send through your portfolio or a selection of 3–5 video ad examples you've edited, along with a brief note on your editing background and when you're available to start. Applications without examples will not be considered.
