HIRING: Payroll Specialist (Offshore)
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Payroll Specialist to manage both U.S. and international payroll operations with accuracy, confidentiality, and efficiency. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience processing payroll through QuickBooks Online and Wise while ensuring payroll compliance, timely payments, and accurate recordkeeping.
This role will work closely with HR, Finance, and Operations to support payroll processing for both U.S.-based employees and offshore contractors.
Key Responsibilities
Process weekly payroll accurately and on time.
Manage U.S. payroll
Process international contractor payments through Wise.
Review employee time records and payroll changes prior to processing.
Maintain payroll records while ensuring confidentiality and data accuracy.
Process new hires, terminations, promotions, salary adjustments, bonuses, commissions, and reimbursements.
Coordinate payroll deductions, taxes, and benefit changes.
Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies promptly.
Reconcile payroll reports and support month-end and year-end reporting.
Partner with HR regarding employee status changes affecting payroll.
Ensure compliance with U.S. payroll regulations and company payroll policies.
Assist with payroll audits and documentation requests.
Recommend process improvements to increase payroll accuracy and efficiency.
Qualifications
3+ years of payroll experience supporting U.S.-based companies.
Hands-on experience using QuickBooks Online
Experience processing international payments using Wise (required).
Experience handling payroll for both U.S. employees and offshore contractors.
Strong understanding of U.S. payroll practices and payroll compliance.
Advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills.
Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive payroll information.
Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with payroll reconciliations and reporting.
Experience supporting HR or Finance teams.
Familiarity with contractor onboarding and payroll documentation (W-9, W-8BEN, etc.).
Experience working remotely with distributed global teams.
Knowledge of accounting systems such as QuickBooks or similar ERP platforms is a plus.
