We are seeking a Payroll & Compensation Analyst to own accurate payroll execution and disciplined interpretation of complex variable compensation programs. This role requires stronger analytical judgment than traditional payroll work because sales and operations plans include gross-margin commissions, bonuses, quarterly true-ups, thresholds and other rules requiring accurate, auditable calculations.
Ideal candidate has 5–7 years of progressive payroll, compensation, or finance operations experience with direct ownership of complex variable-compensation calculations. Paylocity experience strongly preferred; Certinia and Salesforce experience highly valuable.
Job Responsibilities:
Own end-to-end recurring payroll process with strong controls and timeliness.
Administer payroll activities in Paylocity including inputs, employee changes, earnings, and deductions.
Translate written compensation plans into accurate, repeatable calculations.
Interpret sales commission structures involving booked/produced margins and quarterly true-ups.
Ensure payroll and incentive compensation reconcile to supporting systems and financial records.
Reconcile payroll registers and compensation calculations with general-ledger activity.
Provide clear support to Finance leaders and employees on payroll matters.
Prepare recurring payroll summaries, exception reports, and supporting schedules.
Document payroll and compensation workflows, decision rules, and controls.
Handle confidential employee and compensation data with integrity.
Support month-end and quarter-end close processes.
Coordinate with Finance and operations leadership on compensation matters.
Strengthen payroll processes to scale without unnecessary manual effort.
Qualifications:
Minimum 5–7 years of payroll, compensation, finance operations, or accounting experience.
Direct ownership of complex variable-compensation calculations.
Experience interpreting sales/operations incentive plans (commissions, bonuses, tiers, true-ups).
Hands-on Paylocity experience strongly preferred.
Certinia (FinancialForce) and Salesforce experience highly valuable.
Advanced Excel with complex formulas, lookup logic, and reconciliation expertise.
Working knowledge of payroll controls and financial reconciliation.
Strong attention to detail and analytical judgment.
Excellent communication and confidentiality management.
Ability to work independently with minimal oversight.
Organized and deadline-driven.
