We are a Florida-based construction company specializing in electrical systems, traffic signals, and roadway infrastructure.
We are looking for a Pay Item Specialist to support the development and standardization of Pay Items for the FDOT Miami project. This role is critical in ensuring accurate cost breakdowns, contract compliance, and transparency in project execution within a fully remote environment.
Key Responsibilities:
-Develop and structure Pay Items in a comprehensive and standardized format
-Prepare detailed cost breakdowns for materials, including specifications and pricing
-Analyze equipment allocation, utilization rates, and associated costs
-Define manpower requirements, including labor categories, hours, and rates
-Establish and organize tasks/activities with clear sequencing and scope alignment
Ensure accuracy, consistency, and completeness of all Pay Item components
-Support cost control, budgeting, and documentation for audit and compliance purposes
-Collaborate with project teams to align Pay Items with contract and project requirements
-Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and standardization in cost structuring
Qualifications:
-Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (preferred)
-At least 2 years of experience in cost estimation, project controls, or Pay Item development
-Experience with infrastructure or roadway projects is preferred
-Familiarity with FDOT standards and requirements is an advantage
-Proficiency in Excel and cost management tools
-Strong analytical skills and high attention to detail
-Strong organizational and communication skills; ability to work independently
-Advanced English (written and spoken)
