Capital Engine is looking for a dependable video editor who can take content from raw footage to a checked, published post. We need strong editing, organized execution, and consistent follow-through.
SCHEDULE AND PAY
- Part-time: 4 hours per day, Monday-Friday, 20 hours per week.
- Remote. The daily working block and meeting overlap will be agreed during the interview.
- USD $450-$550 per month for the stated part-time schedule, depending on demonstrated experience and fit.
- Please apply only if this schedule and pay range work for you. This is initially a part-time role; additional hours are not guaranteed.
WHAT YOU WILL OWN
- Edit talking-head, educational, and business/finance footage into clear long-form videos and short-form clips for YouTube, Instagram,
- Improve hooks, pacing, captions, audio, B-roll, simple graphics, and brand consistency. Preserve the speaker's meaning and check names, numbers, and captions.
- Use AI tools to speed up transcription, rough cuts, repurposing, voice/avatar production, or visual creation where appropriate, then review the results yourself. Experience with tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, HeyGen, Higgsfield, or ElevenLabs is useful; show us what you actually use well.
- Prepare platform-specific exports, titles, descriptions, captions, and thumbnails using our guidance.
- Schedule approved content using Post Planner or a comparable tool, check that each post went live correctly, and record the published links. Scheduling alone is not completion.
- Keep source files, editable projects, versions, approvals, and the content calendar organized.
- Send a short daily update: completed work with links, next priorities, and blockers. Flag missing footage, approvals, or deadline risks early.
- Set realistic weekly output with us based on footage, editing complexity, revisions, and the 20-hour schedule. This is not an unlimited-editing role.
WHAT WE NEED
- A relevant portfolio of work you personally edited, ideally including both short-form and long-form content.
- Confident use of Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, CapCut, or a comparable editor; clear audio and accurate captions matter more than a particular tool.
- Practical publishing/calendar experience, strong attention to detail, clear written English, and reliable communication.
- Ability to follow an established brand voice and approval process, use licensed/authorized assets, and avoid inventing claims, testimonials, or results.
HOW TO APPLY
Use the subject: VIDEO PT - Your Name
Please answer these numbered questions concisely:
1. Can you work 20 hours/week, 4 hours each weekday? Give your time zone, available working block, earliest start date, and monthly rate within the range. Mention other work commitments only as they affect availability; no employer names needed.
2. Share two or three relevant samples, including a short and a long-form video if available. State exactly what you personally did, which tools you used, and roughly how long each took. If your samples are team work, explain your contribution.
3. Describe your process for taking one approved video through scheduling, publication checks, and recording the live link. Name the publishing tools you have used.
4. Give one real example of catching a caption, audio, export, or publishing error before it became a problem.
5. Explain one AI-assisted editing or production workflow you use and how you check its output. Include any relevant avatar/voice samples you are allowed to share.
6. For a clean 10-minute talking-head recording, give a rough time estimate for editing the long-form video plus two simple shorts. State assumptions; this is a planning question, not a request to create unpaid work.
7. Describe a time a deadline was at risk and how you communicated and resolved it.
No custom unpaid project is required to apply. Shortlisted applicants may be invited to an interview and a short paid practical test, with scope and payment agreed before any work starts. Please share only work you have permission to show.
