We host regular events and need a skilled video editor to turn raw footage into polished after-movies, promo teasers, reels, and marketing content for digital ads. This starts as a part-time role (~20 hrs/week) with real potential to grow full-time as event frequency increases. Work arrives in batches after each event — strong turnaround, storytelling instinct, and file organization matter as much as technical editing skill.
Responsibilities:
Edit raw event footage into complete after-movies/recap videos with strong pacing and storytelling
Cut short-form teasers, reels, and promo clips optimized for social and paid ad platforms
Add music, transitions, color grading, and basic motion graphics/text overlays
Deliver multiple format/aspect-ratio versions for different platforms without being asked
Organize and archive raw footage and project files in a clear, findable structure between events
Flex your schedule around our event calendar — expect workload spikes in the days immediately after each event, with lighter weeks in between
Requirements:
2-3+ years of real video editing experience — event recaps, promo/marketing content, or short-form social content specifically (not just personal/hobby projects)
Strong portfolio required — please include links to 2-3 pieces of work most similar to after-movies, event promos, or short-form ad content
Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve at a professional level (CapCut alone is not sufficient for this role)
Working knowledge of color grading and basic motion graphics/text animation
Demonstrated file/asset organization — describe how you manage raw footage and project versions across multiple jobs
Able to handle workload that clusters right after events, with fast turnaround on deliverables
Please include: a link to your strongest event or promo edit, and a one-sentence answer to "how do you decide what footage makes the final cut when you have hours of raw material?"
