# Part-Time GA4, GTM & Microsoft Clarity Tracking and Reporting Specialist

**Employment Type:** Part-Time
**Hours:** 10–20 hours per week
**Pay:** $3–$5 USD per hour, depending on experience
**Location:** Remote

## About the Role

We are looking for a detail-oriented analytics and tracking specialist who can help us ensure our website analytics, conversion tracking, email campaign tracking, and reporting are accurate across our business and client websites.

The ideal candidate must have strong practical experience with **Google Analytics 4 (GA4), Google Tag Manager (GTM), Microsoft Clarity, and UTM tracking for email campaigns**.

**Reporting is a critical part of this role.** You must be able to document everything you do, explain what the data means, identify problems, and provide clear recommendations. Simply completing a technical task without documenting and reporting the results will not be sufficient.

## Key Responsibilities

### 1. Google Analytics 4 (GA4)
- Audit, configure, and maintain GA4 properties.
- Set up and validate events, key events/conversions, and traffic-source tracking.
- Monitor website traffic, user behavior, landing pages, and conversion performance.
- Identify tracking discrepancies, missing data, and unusual traffic patterns.
- Provide insights and recommendations based on analytics data.

### 2. Google Tag Manager (GTM)
- Configure and maintain tags, triggers, and variables.
- Implement and troubleshoot GA4 event tracking.
- Test implementations using GTM Preview Mode, Tag Assistant, and GA4 DebugView.
- Verify that events fire correctly and are not duplicated.
- Document every configuration change and its purpose.

### 3. Microsoft Clarity
- Configure and maintain Microsoft Clarity where required.
- Analyze heatmaps, session recordings, clicks, scrolling behavior, and user friction.
- Identify potential website usability issues and conversion barriers.
- Provide evidence-based recommendations for improving the website experience.

### 4. Email UTM Tracking
- Create and maintain consistent UTM naming conventions for email campaigns.
- Use UTM parameters such as `utm_source`, `utm_medium`, and `utm_campaign` correctly.
- Ensure email campaign links can be identified accurately in GA4.
- Test tracking links before campaigns are sent.
- Report on email traffic, engagement, landing pages, and conversions where measurable.

### 5. Mandatory Reporting and Documentation
- Maintain a clear record of all tasks completed.
- Document tracking setups, changes, tests, errors, and fixes.
- Provide regular reports detailing what was done, what was discovered, and what needs attention.
- Build or maintain reports and dashboards using Looker Studio or Google Sheets where appropriate.
- Explain results in clear English without relying on technical jargon.
- Include screenshots, evidence, relevant metrics, and supporting data when appropriate.
- Proactively flag problems and recommend next steps.

## Required Qualifications

- Demonstrable hands-on experience with GA4 and Google Tag Manager.
- Practical experience implementing and troubleshooting event tracking.
- Experience using Microsoft Clarity for website behavior analysis.
- Strong understanding of UTM parameters and email campaign attribution.
- Excellent analytical, reporting, and documentation skills.
- Strong written English and the ability to communicate findings clearly.
- High attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to work independently.
- Comfortable working across multiple websites or client accounts.

## Preferred Qualifications

- Experience working in a digital marketing agency.
- Experience with lead-generation websites and service businesses.
- Experience with Looker Studio and Google Sheets reporting.
- Familiarity with Google Search Console and conversion-rate optimization.
- Basic JavaScript and data layer troubleshooting skills.

## How to Apply

Please include the following in your application:

1. Your experience with GA4, GTM, Microsoft Clarity, and email UTM tracking.
2. Examples of tracking implementations or reports you have personally completed. Please remove confidential client information.
3. The reporting tools you use and an example of how you communicate findings.
4. Your hourly rate and availability per week.
5. A brief explanation of how you would investigate a GA4 report showing traffic from an email campaign as direct traffic instead of email traffic.

**Important:** We will assess applicants based on their practical skills, accuracy, communication, and reporting ability. We are looking for someone who takes ownership of their work and can demonstrate what they have actually done.
