# Part-Time Content Producer & Short-Form Video Editor

## About the Role

We are seeking a talented Content Producer and Short-Form Video Editor to help document an international historical research and documentary project taking place in England this August.

This is **not** a graphic design or Canva position.

We are looking for someone who can take raw video footage and transform it into engaging, story-driven content for social media.

The work includes documenting historical research, museum visits, public art, travel, public speaking engagements, interviews, behind-the-scenes ---------- nts, and cultural experiences. Content will be produced for several related brands and public figures involved in the project.

## Position Details

* Remote
* Part-time
* Approximately 15-25 hours per week
* Additional hours may be available during travel periods

## Responsibilities

You will receive raw videos, photos, voice notes, and project notes throughout the week.

Your responsibilities include:

* Organize and manage incoming media files.
* Select the strongest clips from raw footage.
* Edit engaging vertical videos for Instagram Reels, TikTok, Facebook Reels, YouTube Shorts, and LinkedIn.
* Create compelling hooks within the first three seconds.
* Add clean, professional captions and subtitles.
* Incorporate music, pacing, and transitions that enhance storytelling.
* Create simple thumbnails when needed.
* Write draft captions using project notes and transcripts.
* Prepare content for multiple brands with different audiences.
* Repurpose footage into multiple videos.
* Deliver content within agreed deadlines.
* Maintain an organized archive of project media.

## Types of Content You Will Edit

* Documentary filmmaking
* Public speaking events
* Artist studio visits
* Public art installations
* Travel content
* Educational storytelling
* Walking tours
* Interviews
* Behind-the-scenes production
* Community engagement
* Cultural events

## During the England Project

During our August research trip, you will receive footage daily from museums, archives, historical sites, interviews, public talks, and behind-the-scenes ---------- nts.

Your objective is to edit and prepare content quickly so audiences can experience the journey while it is happening.

## Required Skills

* Excellent written and spoken English
* Strong short-form video editing skills
* Experience editing vertical social media videos
* Ability to tell a story through editing
* Strong sense of pacing and viewer retention
* Reliable internet connection
* Excellent communication
* Strong organization and attention to detail
* Ability to work independently and meet deadlines

Experience with Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro, or CapCut is preferred.

## THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT

We are primarily hiring a **video editor**, not a Canva designer.

When applying, **please do not send Canva graphics, static posts, quote cards, carousels, or social media graphics unless they accompany your video work.**

Instead, we want to see examples of **vertical videos that you personally edited**.

Examples include:

* Instagram Reels
* TikTok videos
* Facebook Reels
* YouTube Shorts

## Paid Editing Test

Applicants selected for the next stage will complete a paid editing exercise.

You will receive:

* Raw video clips
* Photos
* Project notes

You will create:

* One 30-60 second vertical video
* One Instagram Story sequence
* One caption
* One title/hook

Turnaround time: 24 hours.
