JOB OVERVIEW

Part-Time Accountant / Financial Partner (Contract)

We are seeking a long-term accounting partner to own the day-to-day financial operations of the business while also supporting higher-level financial planning and decision-making.

This role goes beyond transactional bookkeeping. You will be responsible for maintaining clean, accurate books and partnering with the founder on budgeting, cash flow visibility, and ongoing financial insights.

WHAT YOU WILL OWN
- End-to-end bookkeeping and monthly close in QuickBooks Online
- Ongoing reconciliation of bank accounts, credit cards, and general ledger
- Preparation and review of monthly financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow)
- Budget creation, monitoring, and variance analysis
- Cash flow tracking and forward-looking visibility
- Cleanup of historical bookkeeping as needed to maintain accuracy
- Preparation and coordination of required tax filings and compliance documentation
- Identification and implementation of process improvements as the business evolves

HOW WE WILL WORK TOGETHER
- Regular bi-weekly or monthly check-ins focused on financial clarity and planning
- High level of ownership and autonomy over the accounting function
- Collaborative relationship with the founder, including proactive communication around risks, trends, and opportunities

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- Proven experience as a CPA, Senior Accountant, or equivalent
- Strong hands-on bookkeeping experience (not review-only or audit-only)
- Comfort owning the books end-to-end and explaining the numbers clearly
- Experience with budgeting, cash flow management, and financial planning
- Experience with QuickBooks Online (ProAdvisor preferred)
- Strong judgment, attention to detail, and ability to work independently
- Clear communicator who enjoys partnering with business owners
