JOB OVERVIEW

About us

We are deK?r Living, a family-run home furnishings and decor brand in Los Angeles ( ---------- ). We sell furniture, lighting, rugs, ceramics, and decor with a warm, elevated, Scandinavian-Californian aesthetic. We're scaling the business significantly over the next few years, and we're looking for a Growth Lead to own our paid acquisition and, over time, direct the marketing team.

This is a senior, strategic role — not a task-based VA role. We are not looking for someone who "also does Facebook ads." We are looking for a specialist who owns the number: someone accountable for our ad spend, our tracking, and the growth of our online revenue, who can build and scale campaigns that are actually profitable.

Important — please read before applying

We sell high-value, considered-purchase products. A customer may spend weeks d ---------- on a $2,000 sofa, and the buying journey involves financing, delivery expectations, and trust. This is fundamentally different from selling low-cost impulse products or running lead-generation for local services. We need someone who understands how to run paid media for high-average-order-value eCommerce — long consideration cycles, higher customer-acquisition costs, and a focus on profitability and lifetime value, not just cheap clicks or cheap leads. If your experience is mainly dropshipping, low-ticket impulse products, or local lead-gen, this specific role is probably not the right fit.

What you will own

Plan, launch, and manage our paid media across Meta (Facebook/Instagram) and Google (Shopping, Performance Max, Search), and test additional channels like Pinterest where they fit a home-decor brand
Own our tracking and analytics — GA4, Meta CAPI / server-side tracking, conversion tracking — so we can trust our numbers and make decisions on real data
Set and manage the ad budget, scaling what returns and killing what doesn't, against clear targets for ROAS, CAC, and contribution margin
Build a weekly KPI dashboard and report to the owner on spend, revenue, CAC, and what you're testing next
Establish a disciplined testing cadence — audiences, creative, offers, landing pages
Over time, direct our other tea ---------- mbers (creative/design and email/retention) — briefing creative, prioritizing work, and keeping everyone pointed at the growth number
Work with our creative specialist to make sure ad creative is strong, and with our email specialist so paid and retention work together

Required skills and qualifications

3+ years running paid media for eCommerce with real budget accountability. Be ready to tell us the largest monthly ad spend you have personally managed.
Demonstrated experience with higher-value or considered-purchase products (furniture, home, jewelry, appliances, or similar) — or a clear, credible explanation of how your approach changes for high-AOV vs. impulse products.
Deep, hands-on expertise in Meta Ads Manager and Google Ads (Shopping / Performance Max / Search).
Genuine fluency in analytics and tracking: GA4, conversion tracking, and the ability to set up (or clearly direct) server-side / CAPI tracking, especially given iOS privacy changes.
The ability to think in unit economics — CAC, LTV, ROAS, contribution margin — not just clicks, impressions, and CTR.
Experience with Shopify stores.
Clear written and spoken English, and the ability to report clearly to an owner who is not a marketing expert.
Reliable computer, stable internet, and overlap with Los Angeles (Pacific time) hours for communication.

Nice to have

Experience specifically in furniture, home decor, or interiors
Experience directing or managing creative and email/retention specialists
Pinterest paid experience
Familiarity with Klaviyo / email as it connects to paid acquisition

HOW TO APPLY — READ CAREFULLY. Applications that skip these steps will be ignored.

Start your reply with the word COMPASS so we know you read the full posting.
Tell us about one paid-media account you scaled. What was the product and price range, the largest monthly spend you managed, the starting and ending ROAS or CAC, and specifically what you changed as you scaled. Real numbers, please — screenshots or dashboards welcome.
Answer this directly: How does your approach to paid media differ when selling a $2,000 sofa (weeks of consideration) versus a $30 impulse product? This is the single most important question — we're looking for a real point of view.
Our online store currently does very little revenue and our tracking may be incomplete. In your first 30 days, what would you do first, and what would you deliberately NOT do yet?
Share your portfolio, results, or a link to your Upwork / platform profile where we can see verified reviews and past work.

Provide how you would outline a paid-media plan (channels, budget approach, tracking, and how you'd measure success for our specific business) before we make any offer.

We're looking for a long-term partner to grow this business with us. If you're a genuine paid-media specialist who understands high-value eCommerce and you followed the steps above, we'd love to talk.
