BEFORE YOU APPLY — KNOCKOUTS (must be YES)
1. Are you willing to work over 40 hours a week? YES
2. Are you willing to work over the weekend? YES
3. Are you completely fluent in English (written and spoken)? YES
# Paid Media Buyer – Meta & Google (E-commerce Focus)
**Connect Social · Full-time · Remote (Worldwide) · Mid–Senior**
Connect Social is a performance marketing partner for e-commerce and DTC brands. We've worked with 120+ brands across subscription, established DTC, celebrity/creator, and high-stakes niches including politics. We run paid media,
We're hiring one senior Paid Media Buyer. Location is open globally. English must be completely fluent (written and spoken). This is a high-output remote seat: we expect people who can sustain **40+ hours/week** and are **willing to work weekends** when accounts or launches need it. If that is not a hard yes, do not apply.
## Before you apply — answer these (must be YES to both)
1. Are you willing to work over 40 hours a week?
2. Are you willing to work over the weekend?
If either answer is no, this role is not a fit. Applications that do not confirm both will be declined.
## What you will own
- Full ownership of a book of e-commerce accounts on Meta and Google — strategy, build, launch, optimization, and the number at the end of the month
- Media planning and budget allocation across platforms, tied to blended targets, not in-platform vanity metrics
- Structured creative testing: writing briefs, reading results, and telling our creative team what to make next based on data — not taste
- Feed and Shopping health on the Google side, including PMax, brand/non-brand separation, and search term hygiene
- Measurement integrity: CAPI, server-side tracking, and reconciling platform-reported numbers against actual business results
- Client-facing reporting and calls — presenting performance, defending decisions, and telling a founder the truth when a month goes sideways
- Diagnosing accounts that are underperforming and having a specific point of view on why, backed by evidence
## Non-negotiable qualifications
Read this section carefully. If you don't clear these bars, this role isn't the right fit.
- **English:** Completely fluent in English (written and spoken). Client calls and Slack are in English.
- **Hours:** Willing and able to work **40+ hours/week** and **weekends** when needed. Overlap with US Eastern business hours for client calls is required.
- **Scale:** You've personally managed at least $5M+ in lifetime ad spend, or you're currently running $200K+/month sustained across your book of accounts. Not agency-wide spend you were adjacent to — spend you had your hands in.
- **Tenure:** 3+ years buying media specifically for e-commerce/DTC. Lead gen, B2B, and app install experience is fine as a supplement, but it isn't a substitute.
- **Both platforms:** Deep, current, hands-on experience in both Meta Ads Manager and Google Ads. Not "I've dabbled in Google." We need someone who can build a PMax campaign and fix a broken product feed without escalating it.
- **Business math:** You're fluent in blended ROAS, MER, contribution margin, CAC, AOV, and LTV. You understand why a 2.1x in-platform ROAS can be a great month or a disaster depending on the P&L, and you can explain which one it is.
- **Measurement:** You've implemented or overseen server-side tracking and CAPI. You've worked with a third-party attribution tool (Triple Whale, Northbeam, or similar) and you know where those numbers lie.
- **Creative literacy:** You can look at 40 ads and tell us which 3 to scale, which 5 to iterate, and why. You understand that creative is the primary targeting lever, and you can brief it clearly.
- **Receipts:** You can walk us through specific accounts you've scaled — starting point, ending point, what you changed, and what you'd do differently. Real numbers, real timelines.
- **Setup:** Reliable high-speed internet, quiet space for client calls, and your own computer capable of running Ads Manager / Sheets / Meet without friction.
## You'll stand out if you have
- Experience navigating ad account restrictions, policy appeals, and compliance-sensitive verticals
- TikTok and/or Truth Social buying experience
- Experience running incrementality or geo-lift testing
- You've taken an account from healthy to great and pulled one back from the edge — both skills, not just one
## The mentality we are hiring for
Skills can be taught. This part can't.
**You figure it out.** When you hit something you've never seen before — a new platform update, a tracking break, an account structure you didn't build — your first instinct is to go find the answer, not to ask who's handling it. You'll have support here and you'll never be left stranded, but you should be the kind of person who shows up to the conversation with a hypothesis already formed.
**You're a perfectionist about your output.** Nothing leaves your hands that you're not proud to put your name on. No typos in ad copy. No mismatched UTMs. No report with a number that doesn't tie out. If it's 90% done, it's not done, and you know the difference between the two without being told.
**Your attention to detail is uncomfortable.** You're the person who notices the landing page headline doesn't match the ad, catches the duplicated audience exclusion, and spots the $400 spending in a paused-but-not-really-paused ad set. Small things compound in this job. Missing them costs real money.
**You're relentlessly curious.** You're reading changelogs, testing things in your own accounts, and following what's actually working right now — not what worked in 2023. This industry rewrites itself every six months and you find that energizing rather than exhausting.
**You own the outcome.** When a campaign underperforms, you show up with the diagnosis and the plan before anyone asks. You don't hide behind the algorithm, iOS, or a bad creative cycle. You also speak up early when something isn't working — bad news travels fast here, and that's by design.
**You operate independently.** We're remote. Nobody is watching your calendar. You manage your own priorities, hit your own deadlines, and communicate proactively enough that no one has to chase you for a status update.
**You care about the client's business, not just the account.** Our clients aren't campaign IDs. Your success is measured by whether their business grew — and we treat their success as our own.
## How to apply
1. Confirm in your application / cover note that you answer **YES** to both: (a) willing to work 40+ hours/week, and (b) willing to work weekends.
2. Include your LinkedIn (or portfolio), location/timezone, and 2–3 account receipts (spend scale + outcomes — anonymized is fine).
3. Apply through the board where you found this post.
