About the Company
We're a growing CPG (consumer packaged goods) food brand selling a specialty baking/dessert ingredient. Our product is sold direct-to-consumer online and in national retail stores. Full company name and brand details will be shared directly with the candidate we move forward with.

We're looking for a Packaging Graphic Designer who's comfortable working with dielines and print-ready files to update and maintain our product packaging. You'll take dielines provided by our pouch manufacturer and turn them into finished, print-ready artwork in Adobe Illustrator — keeping our packaging on-brand, accurate, and ready to send straight to print.

What you'll do:
- Take dielines supplied by our pouch/packaging manufacturer and build or update packaging artwork to fit them exactly
- Update existing packaging files (Adobe Illustrator/.ai) when details change — new flavors/variants, updated copy, ingredient or nutrition panel changes, barcodes, certifications, or retailer-specific requirements
- Prepare final files to print specifications: correct bleed, safe zones, CMYK/Pantone color matching, resolution, and file structure per the manufacturer's requirements
- Create new packaging designs for new product launches, working within our existing brand guidelines (colors, logo, fonts, layout style)
- Resize or adapt existing designs across different pouch sizes/formats as needed
- Keep packaging files organized and version-controlled by SKU/flavor so past versions are easy to find
- Communicate directly with our pouch manufacturer/printer as needed to resolve dieline questions or proof issues
- Flag any inconsistencies across our SKUs and help keep packaging visually consistent brand-wide

Why this role matters:
Packaging changes and new flavor launches currently depend on the founder's own limited design time, which slows things down and risks inconsistency across SKUs. A dedicated designer who's fluent in dielines and print production means new flavors and packaging updates can move faster, print-ready files go to the manufacturer with fewer errors or delays, and the brand looks consistent and professional across every product on the shelf.

What we're looking for:
- Strong hands-on experience with Adobe Illustrator, specifically working from manufacturer-supplied dielines
- Understanding of print production requirements: bleed, safe zone, CMYK/Pantone color, resolution, packaging file structure
- Experience with flexible packaging/pouch design specifically is a strong plus (not just general graphic design)
- Sharp attention to detail — small errors in packaging artwork are costly to fix once printed
- Comfortable taking direction and revising designs based on feedback
- Good written English for communicating with our team and, when needed, our manufacturer
- You must provide examples of previous packaging design work (please include links or files/images we can view without needing special software)

Nice to have:
- Experience designing for food or beverage CPG packaging specifically
- Familiarity with common pouch/bag formats (stand-up pouches, flat-bottom bags, etc.)
- Basic knowledge of nutrition facts panel or ingredient label formatting requirements

Schedule & pay:
Gig work, remote, ongoing — starting at approximately $4.50/hour, with hours and rate potentially increasing depending on your experience and the results you deliver and when packaging changes warrant
