ABOUT US
A Couple & A Dream is a Florida-based design-build studio specializing in residential renovations and interiors.
Across our projects, we research, specify and purchase tile, plumbing, lighting, hardware, cabinetry, vanities, furniture and finishes every week.
We’re looking for someone who sees more than products on a shopping list.
Someone who wants to know:
Is this the right product?
Are the specifications correct?
Are we getting the best price?
Is there a better supplier?
Can we negotiate better terms?
Does this brand have a trade, referral or affiliate program?
Is there a business opportunity here that we’re currently missing?
If your brain naturally works that way, we’d love to meet you.
# THE ROLE
This position sits at the intersection of:
Procurement + Product Sourcing + Vendor Relationships + Affiliate Marketing
There are two big goals behind this role.
First, we want to make our procurement smarter, more accurate and more organized.
Second, we believe there is untapped revenue in the products and brands we already research, specify and purchase — and we want someone with affiliate marketing experience who can help us build that side of the business.
This is not an Interior Designer position.
Our designers establish the creative direction.
We’re looking for the person who can help turn those selections into something that is purchasable, properly specified, well negotiated and commercially valuable.
# PROCUREMENT & PRODUCT SOURCING
A large part of the role is understanding exactly what we are buying.
That means getting comfortable with details such as:
* Product and SKU
* Material
* Size and dimensions
* Finish
* Quantity
* Waste factors
* Application
* Technical specifications
* Installation requirements
* Required components and accessories
* Compatibility
* Retail and trade pricing
* Availability
* Lead times
* Freight
* Returns
* Warranty information
Once a product is approved, procurement continues through ordering, tracking and delivery.
We want someone who understands that placing an order is not the same as completing procurement.
The goal is for the correct product, in the correct specification, quantity and condition, to arrive when the project actually needs it.
# WE LOVE PEOPLE WHO KNOW PRODUCTS
This is important to us.
When a selected product becomes unavailable, finding something in a similar color isn't enough.
A good alternative may need to match or appropriately replace its:
material, dimensions, finish, application, performance, installation requirements, compatibility, availability, lead time, budget and original design intent.
You don't need to know every construction material on day one.
But you should be someone who enjoys opening the spec sheet, researching the details, asking questions and understanding why one product works and another doesn't.
Experience sourcing products for construction, interior design, FF&E, furniture, hospitality, home improvement or home decor would be especially valuable.
# VENDOR RELATIONSHIPS & NEGOTIATION
We don't want our vendors to simply be websites where we place orders.
We want to build relationships.
As our purchasing volume grows, we want to better understand:
* Trade accounts
* Trade discounts
* Volume pricing
* Direct manufacturer pricing
* Freight opportunities
* Payment terms
* Samples
* Vendor representatives
* Referral programs
* Designer programs
* Rebates
* Brand partnerships
We’re interested in someone who is comfortable communicating with US vendors, developing relationships with representatives and asking for better opportunities.
If we’re consistently spending money with the same brand, we want someone curious enough to ask:
What else should this relationship be doing for us?
# AFFILIATE MARKETING & NEW REVENUE
This is a particularly exciting part of this position.
Affiliate marketing is something we want to develop seriously as a new revenue stream.
We already do the expensive part: we spend time discovering, researching and selecting products for real projects.
Now we want to understand how some of those genuine recommendations can become shoppable and monetizable.
For this reason, previous affiliate marketing, e-commerce, referral or brand partnership experience is important.
We’d love someone who understands things like:
* Affiliate networks
* Direct brand affiliate programs
* Referral programs
* Commission structures
* Tracking and attribution
* Affiliate links
* Product catalogs
* Shoppable collections
* E-commerce
* Performance reporting
* Brand partnerships
* Product monetization
We don't have a mature affiliate department waiting for someone to maintain it.
There is something to build here.
We want someone who can bring knowledge, ideas and experience into the company and help us understand what makes sense for our business.
And we don't want the thinking to stop at affiliate links.
If there are other legitimate ways to generate revenue through our products, purchasing volume, vendor relationships or brand partnerships, we want someone curious enough to find them.
# BUILDING OUR SOURCING LIBRARY
Another goal is to make everything we learn reusable.
A great vendor discovered for one bathroom should not disappear when that project ends.
A negotiated discount should be documented.
A great alternative product should be easy to find again.
An affiliate opportunity should not live forgotten inside someone's inbox.
We want to build a strong product and vendor library containing information such as:
Products · SKUs · Specs · Pricing · Trade Pricing · Vendors · Reps · Lead Times · Samples · Approved Alternatives · Affiliate Programs · Commissions · Previous Project Usage · Vendor Performance
Every project should make the next project easier.
# A LITTLE VISUAL SENSE HELPS
You do not need to be an Interior Designer.
You do need to work comfortably inside a design-led company.
There may occasionally be opportunities to help organize product selections, comparison boards, shoppable collections or presentations in Canva.
A good visual eye is a plus.
SketchUp, AutoCAD and rendering are **not required** for this position.
# WHO WE'D LOVE TO MEET
We’re especially interested in people with experience in some combination of:
* Procurement
* Purchasing
* Product sourcing
* Vendor management
* Supplier negotiation
* FF&E
* Construction or interior products
* Furniture / home furnishings
* E-commerce
* Affiliate marketing
* Brand partnerships
* Trade programs
Strong spreadsheet skills and excellent internet research skills are important.
So are attention to detail, written English, organization and confidence communicating professionally with US-based vendors.
But beyond the skills, we're looking for someone business-minded.
Someone who likes finding opportunities.
Someone who negotiates.
Someone who follows through.
Someone who sees that we buy the same product repeatedly and starts wondering whether there's a better deal.
Someone who discovers a brand we love and checks whether there's an affiliate opportunity.
Someone who enjoys taking scattered information and turning it into a system.
# REMOTE WORK
This is a fully remote position, and you do not need to be located in Florida or the United States.
Our projects and vendors are primarily US-based, so strong English communication and availability during US Eastern Time are important.
# COMPENSATION
Starting rate: $3.50 USD/hour
Full-time: 40 hours/week
Quarterly performance bonus
Compensation review after 6 months
The quarterly bonus is connected to measurable results the team can influence — including procurement accuracy, avoiding preventable costs, stronger purchasing outcomes and performance.
For this role, we are also especially interested in the value created through vendor negotiations, purchasing improvements and new revenue opportunities.
# HOW TO APPLY
Start your application with the word SOURCE so we know you read the full post.
Then answer these three questions:
# 1. PROCUREMENT + MATERIALS
Tell us about a time a product or material you sourced became unavailable, arrived incorrectly or threatened a project timeline.
What happened, what did you personally do, and how was it resolved?
# 2. SOURCING
A designer selected a product that is now unavailable.
Besides color and price, what would you compare before recommending an alternative?
Be specific.
# 3. AFFILIATE + BUSINESS THINKING
Imagine you join a design-build company that regularly purchases and recommends products from the same 20–30 home brands.
Based on your actual affiliate, e-commerce or partnership experience, what opportunities would you investigate first and how would you approach turning those relationships into additional revenue?
Please include:
* Resume
* Brief description of your procurement/product sourcing experience
* Brief description of your affiliate marketing/e-commerce experience
* Examples of shopping lists, procurement trackers, vendor comparisons or sourcing systems you've personally used, if available
* Examples of affiliate systems, dashboards, programs or reporting you've worked with, if available
* Canva/product presentation examples, if relevant
We’re not looking for someone who simply knows the terminology. We’re looking for someone who understands products, enjoys business, sees opportunities and knows how to follow through.
