About Free Money Meister
Free Money Meister is an AI-powered scholarship matching and prioritization platform. We are a U.S. based company helping students find the right scholarships, rank them by their actual likelihood of winning, and execute on them to minimize student loan debt.
We are a fast-moving, high-bar team. We are building something that matters, and we move quickly. The person in this role works alongside a small group of people who consistently go above and beyond, and we are looking for someone who operates the same way.
The Role
This is a student-facing growth role focused on getting more students onto the platform. You will own the work of getting Free Money Meister in front of students and families: finding and booking the right marketing events, coordinating our presence at them, and supporting the campaigns and platform work that turn interest into sign-ups. You will report into our operations function and work closely with our Executive Assistant.
This is a part-time, hourly, remote position. We expect roughly 10 hours per week to start, with potential to grow as you prove yourself and as the company scales. Provide your proposed hourly rate.
What You Will Actually Do
• Find, schedule, and coordinate marketing events that put us in front of students and families: college-readiness fairs, school and community events, and similar opportunities across Maryland and the Greater Washington and Greater Baltimore areas.
• Book and coordinate our own sessions, such as Scholarship 101 workshops, with schools, organizations, and event hosts.
• Run the outbound pipeline work to get students onto the platform: identifying the right events and hosts, reaching out, and following through to a confirmed booking.
• Support inbound growth: helping the platform get discovered by students searching online and through AI tools, and tracking those efforts.
• Help oversee and track platform changes and improvements that keep the student experience up to par as we grow.
• Provide general marketing support: building and maintaining the events calendar, organizing assets, light campaign execution, and capturing what is needed for sign-ups and registrations accurately.
Who We Are Looking For
Experience is helpful but not required. We care far more about how you work than where you have worked. The right person is:
• Super responsive. You reply quickly and you communicate proactively. If you are blocked or unsure, we hear from you while you are working, not after.
• An overachiever. You go above and beyond. You notice things we did not ask about and surface them. You treat our goals as your goals.
• A strong independent thinker. You can take an ambiguous task, make a judgment call, and defend your reasoning. You do not just execute, you think.
• A clear communicator. Much of this role is reaching out to schools, event organizers, and hosts on our behalf, so clear, professional written communication matters.
• Efficient and honest about time. You use modern tools, including AI, to move fast. Your logged time reflects the actual scope of the work.
• A culture fit. You thrive on a small team that holds a high bar and moves fast. You take direction well and self-correct quickly.
Tools and AI
We expect you to use AI tools to work efficiently, and we view that as a strength, not something to hide. What we are evaluating is the judgment you add on top of the tools: the thinking, the prioritization, and the decisions. AI can build a list. It cannot d
A Note Before You Apply
You do not have to be an expert in this field. What we are looking for is someone who is smart, has grit and initiative, and goes above and beyond. If that is you, there is a quick accompanying gig included with this posting that we would like you to complete and send over together with your job application. It helps us assess you better.
Applications that include the completed gig will get our attention. The gig is your chance to show us who you are.
Gig
We want to get Free Money Meister in front of students and families by showing up at the right events. Your task: research and build a list of the top 10 to 20 marketing events we should target for Fall 2026 through Spring 2027 in Maryland, the Greater Washington (DC) area, and/or the Greater Baltimore area.
Think about events where college-bound students and their families actually show up, for example: college and college-readiness fairs, financial aid and FAFSA nights, scholarship workshops, high school college nights, community and education expos, and similar gatherings. Choose the events you believe give us the highest-value opportunity to reach students and get them onto the platform.
For each event, capture what matters and explain your thinking. Describe your process and why you made the choices that you made. The formatting is totally up to you.
Note: If you want to make an impact, be part of fast growth, and work with a team that's all willing to put in the work, then this is the right place for you.
How We Hire
Resumes tell us very little about how someone actually works. So our process centers on the accompanying gig, which mirrors the real work of this role and lets us see how you think and make decisions.
Logistics
• Type: Part-time, hourly, remote (contractor).
• Hours: Approximately 10 hours per week to start, with room to grow.
• Confidentiality: A signed NDA is required before access to any internal systems or materials.
If this sounds like you, complete the accompanying gig and send it over with your application. We want to see how you think.
