JOB OVERVIEW

Focal Point Productions and Magne-Fi are seeking an Operations Manager who thrives at the intersection of logistics, systems design, creative workflows, and disciplined execution. This role will build the operational backbone of a bootstrapped photography and 3D-printed hardware business, establishing scalable processes for fulfillment, quality control, outsourcing, and team coordination.

The ideal candidate is a builder of systems, not chaos, and understands that success comes from repeatable workflows — not “winging it and praying to FedEx.” You will work directly with leadership to transform product concepts and creative services into operational reality.

Core Responsibilities

1. Business Infrastructure & Systems

- Establish and optimize internal operating systems (CRM, SOPs, tracking dashboards, asset management, automation)

- Design workflows for incoming Virtual Assistants (VAs), outsourced editors, and fulfillment teams

- Build systems to segment the business into clear divisions (Media/Photography, 3D-Printed Hardware, Resale/Marketplace Ops, Outsourcing/QC, Talent Management)

2. Fulfillment & Logistics

- Create ordering and fulfillment processes for Magne-Fi products (inventory flow, packaging, labeling, shipping workflows)

- Oversee fulfillment across platforms (Kickstarter, Reddit sales, Facebook groups, future e-commerce channels)

- Maintain cash-first purchasing discipline and protect working capital

3. Outsourcing & Content Workflow

- Build an outsourcing pipeline for FSBO photo editing (editor onboarding, delivery templates, revision loops, QC benchmarks)

- Implement standardized handoff process to external editors and track turnaround, accuracy, and quality

- QC all outsourced deliverables before client or marketplace delivery

4. Social Media & Web Operations

- Coordinate social media content creation and scheduling for product demos, real estate shoots, and portfolio posts

- Assist in maintaining and updating website content and layout (supporting, editing, and supervising outsourced or internal web updates)

Develop optimization systems for SEO, portfolio indexing, landing pages, and content funnels

5. Team Coordination & Supervision

- Manage editor teams, hunters (FSBO photo sourcing), outsourced labor, and production workflows

- Supervise intake, delivery, revisions, QC, and approvals for all creative and product assets

- Build scalable oversight systems for 3D print farm expansion when needed

6. Required Qualifications

- Strong logistics and operational planning background

- Ability to manage outsourcing pipelines and QC frameworks

- Familiarity with e-commerce, fulfillment, or production operations

- Ability to build systems from scratch with limited resources

- Excellent communication and team supervision skills

- Comfort working with photography and hardware product workflows

7. Preferred Qualifications

- Background in creative production, product fulfillment, or marketplace operations

- Familiarity with Shopify, Kickstarter logistics, Reddit selling, and Facebook group commerce

- Understanding of photography gear workflows and/or 3D print farm scaling operations

- Dry humor tolerance (must appreciate sentences like “built for swaps, not Spider-Man impressions”)
