JOB OVERVIEW

**Read this whole post before applying. The last section tells you how to
apply, and applications that skip it get deleted.**

We run a skincare e-commerce brand. We ship thousands of orders a month, run paid ads daily, and handle support through an AI agent with a human behind it.

I am hiring one person to run operations with me. **This is not a task-taker role.** I have SOPs and I will hand them over, but if all you do is follow them, you are not the person I am looking for. I want someone who reads a situation, d ---------- , tells me what they d ---------- , and comes to me with ideas I did not ask for.

**This is part-time, and you set your own hours.** I do not care when you work. Work at 6am, work at midnight, work around your other commitments, I am not counting your hours and I will not ask you to sit in a tracker. What I care about is that the work is done, and done right.

That freedom cuts both ways: nobody is going to tell you what to do next. If you need someone standing over you to get moving, you will fail in this role and we will both know it inside a month.

**There are bonuses on top of your base pay, tied to how well you actually do.** The clearest one: customers rate the support they get, and those ratings are tracked in our helpdesk. **Keep your satisfaction scores high and you earn more.** I would rather pay someone well for doing this properly than pay the going rate for someone who is just clearing a queue.

**What you will own**

*Fulfilment coordination

*Customer support (you are the human behind the AI)*
- Our AI agent handles most tickets. **You handle everything it can't**: refunds, damaged orders, angry customers, anything that needs judgment

*Paid ads and social*
- Uploading ad creatives to Meta and keeping our tracker updated
- Replying to comments and DMs, and hiding the ones that need hiding
- Some support for a second, smaller brand

**What makes this different from every other VA job you have applied to**

I do not want to be asked what to do about things you can work out yourself. The person in this seat will regularly hit situations no SOP covers: a customer who is technically outside our policy but clearly right, a warehouse reply that does not make sense, a number that looks wrong.

**I want you to make the call, do it, and tell me what you did and why.**

I also want you telling me what to change. If you do something ten times and think it is stupid, say so and propose the fix. The last thing I want is someone who quietly does a pointless task for six months because it was on a list.

If that sounds uncomfortable, this is not the job. If you have been frustrated because nobody let you d ---------- anything, keep reading.

**You need to have**

- Real e-commerce operations experience: Shopify, order issues, refunds,
customer support. Not general admin, not data entry
- Excellent written English. You will be writing to customers who are already
upset, and to a warehouse where clarity prevents expensive mistakes
- The self-discipline to work unsupervised on your own schedule. There is no
shift and no tracker, the work either got done or it did not
- A reliable internet connection and a machine that can run several browser
tools at once
- Nice to have, not required: Google Sheets beyond the basics

**The hiring process**

1. You apply here, following the instructions below
2. I send you a short one-way video interview, you record answers
3. A small interview

**How to apply**

Send your application with:

1. **Your answer to this, first, before anything else.** A customer emails
asking to cancel their order. You check, and it shipped yesterday. What do
you do, and what do you write back to them? A few sentences is enough, I
am reading how you think, not testing product knowledge you do not have yet.
2. A short note on your e-commerce experience: which brand, what you did,
how long
3. One thing you improved in a previous job that nobody asked you to improve

Good luck.
