JOB OVERVIEW

We're looking for an experienced offshore bookkeeper to support our accounting practice with day-to-day Xero bookkeeping for our clients. This is a full-time role working Australian business hours (AEST/AEDT).

Most of the work is simple, repetitive, and checklist-driven, bank reconciliations, coding transactions, and processing payroll that generally follows the same pattern each period. You'll be given clear instructions, system access, and your own email address to work from. We're after someone accurate and consistent, who knows when something looks off and flags it for our review rather than guessing.

Responsibilities
Reconcile bank transactions in Xero using bank rules, and code straightforward transactions accurately
Review reconciled data for unusual or unclear items and flag these for our review rather than processing them independently
Process basic payroll and superannuation for clients, generally following the same pattern as prior pay periods
Follow our documented client checklists and standard processes for each task
Maintain accurate, consistent records across multiple client files
Communicate clearly via email when queries arise or checklist items need clarification
Requirements
Previous bookkeeping experience, ideally supporting an accounting firm or multiple clients
Confident, hands-on experience using Xero (bank reconciliation, bank rules, transaction coding)
Experience processing payroll and superannuation in Australia (or willingness to learn our specific process — Xero payroll experience is a strong plus)
Comfortable following documented checklists and processes precisely, with strong attention to detail
Able to identify exceptions or unusual items and escalate rather than guess
Reliable internet connection and a suitable home office setup
Good written English for email communication with our team
Work Hours

Full-time, 40 hours/week, working Australian business hours (AEST/AEDT).

Salary

Negotiable, based on experience.
