We're hiring an experienced Accountant / Financial Controller to take ownership of the finance function for an established Australian security, facilities management and franchising group. Reporting directly to the CFO and CEO, you'll lead a small offshore accounts team, keep the books accurate and current, and drive the cash-flow discipline the business runs on.
This is not a basic bookkeeping role. You'll own day-to-day finance, oversee Australian payroll, lead debtor collections, and work directly with the client's leadership and external accountants. It's a long-term, full-time seat for someone who wants real ownership and direct client access.
What You'll Do:
• Maintain accurate, current accounting records in QuickBooks Online across multiple entities
• Prepare weekly cash-flow forecasts and monthly management reports (P&L, balance sheet, debtor and creditor ageing, variance analysis)
• Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, intercompany and key balance-sheet accounts
• Oversee Australian payroll, ensuring PAYG, superannuation, leave and Fair Work requirements are met
• Lead the Accounts Receivable function with disciplined debtor follow-up and collections
• Supervise the Bookkeeper, AR Officer and Payroll Officer, setting priorities and standards
• Support month-end and year-end close
• Prepare schedules and documentation for BAS, tax and year-end work with external accountants
What We're Looking For:
• Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline
• CPA, CA, ACCA or equivalent strongly preferred
• At least 5 years in a senior accounting, finance manager or financial controller role
• Practical knowledge of Australian accounting, payroll, GST, BAS, PAYG and superannuation
• Strong hands-on QuickBooks Online experience
• Previous people-management experience leading a finance or accounts team
• Excellent written and spoken English
• Advanced Excel or Google Sheets
Nice to Have:
• Experience in security, facilities management, cleaning, franchising or other multi-site service businesses
• Experience working directly with external Australian accountants
• Exposure to shift-work or labour-intensive payroll environments
Work Setup:
• Fully remote
• Schedule: Day shift aligned to Australian business hours (AEST/AEDT), Monday to Friday
• Must have a reliable work-from-home setup
Additional Benefits:
• Service Delivery Incentive (Attendance)
