Remote Medical Receptionist / Surgery Coordinator (Orthopedic Spine & GI Practice)

Hours: Full-time (40 hours/week)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, U.S. Pacific Time (8:00 AM–5:00 PM)
About Us
We are a boutique medical practice serving patients in Beverly Hills, California. Our practice focuses on providing exceptional patient care with longer appointments, same-week consultations, and a concierge-level experience.
We're looking for someone who genuinely enjoys helping patients and wants to become an integral member of a growing practice.
This is not a high-volume call center position.
You'll be the first person our patients speak with, and you'll play a critical role in creating an outstanding patient experience.
Responsibilities
- Answer incoming phone calls professionally
- Schedule new and follow-up appointments
- Coordinate surgery scheduling
- Obtain outside medical records and imaging
- Upload MRI and X-ray reports into our EMR
- Confirm appointments
- Respond to patient
- Coordinate referrals and imaging appointments
- Maintain physician calendar
- Perform general administrative duties
- Assist with postoperative patient communication
- Maintain accurate documentation within the EMR
Preferred Qualifications
- At least 2 years working in a U.S. medical office
- Orthopedic, neurosurgery, spine, pain management, or GI experience strongly preferred
- Excellent spoken and written English
- Neutral, professional phone voice
- Experience using electronic medical records (Athena, Tebra, eClinicalWorks, AdvancedMD, DrChrono, etc.)
- Familiarity with HIPAA
- Excellent organizational skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to multitask while remaining calm and professional
Technical Requirements
- Reliable fiber internet (minimum 100 Mbps preferred)
- Backup internet connection (required)
- Backup power source (required)
- Quiet home office
- Quality USB headset
- HD webcam
- Modern computer with dual monitors preferred
Compensation
- Compensation: USD $3.50/hour
- Annual performance review
