Rhino USA designs and sells automotive, towing, and outdoor recovery gear (tie-downs, hitches, tow straps, roadside and recovery kits, and more) across major retail and e-commerce marketplaces in the US, EU/UK, and Mexico. Our New Product Development (NPD) team is growing, and we're hiring an experienced sourcing professional to support our NPD lead and own sourcing for a defined set of product categories.
The Role
You'll support our NPD lead by owning sourcing for your assigned product categories — vetting vendors, running RFQs end to end, and following up until deals are closed. Production and compliance are owned by other teams, but you'll work alongside them and keep our NPD boards and data accurate throughout. This is a hands-on role with real ownership over your categories, not a general admin position: we need someone who already knows how sourcing and vendor management work, and can run with it with minimal oversight.
What You'll Do
Source and vet vendors/factories for your assigned product categories across China, Vietnam, Thailand, and Cambodia, with flexibility for US and Mexico manufacturing where relevant
Own the RFQ process end to end — issue RFQs, follow up with vendors, negotiate, and track progress against timelines. This is the core of the role
Coordinate packaging design and approval, and manage the sampling process — requesting, tracking, and approving samples for your assigned categories
Flag relevant compliance considerations (e.g., Prop 65) and tariff/duty implications during sourcing conversations, coordinating with our compliance and production teams as needed
Keep our
Communicate daily with the team via Slack and Gmail, and support data accuracy in Fulfil (or similar ERP/PIM systems)
Take ownership of recurring sourcing tasks and reporting to genuinely reduce the NPD lead's workload — not just execute instructions, but flag issues and bring solutions
What You Need:
Minimum 7 years of sourcing/procurement experience, with strong, demonstrable experience sourcing from China specifically
Experience sourcing from Vietnam, Thailand, and/or Cambodia; exposure to US or Mexico sourcing/manufacturing is a strong plus
Proven experience vetting vendors and running RFQs from issue through negotiation and close
Solid understanding of basic international shipping/logistics concepts — the difference between FCL and LCL, Incoterms, etc.
General awareness of compliance considerations relevant to sourcing (e.g., Prop 65) and how tariffs/duties factor into sourcing decisions
Proficiency with
Comfort using AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude) to speed up day-to-day work is a plus
Excellent written and spoken English
A proactive, detail-oriented operator who can manage multiple vendor relationships and deadlines at once
Hours & Logistics
Core hours need to overlap with South Africa (SAST) and Australia/Asia time zones; flexibility to shift occasionally for US/Mexico-related coordination
Contract role, ongoing (not project-based) — this is intended as a long-term working relationship, not a one-off engagement
Fully remote
Compensation: negotiable, based on experience
