Music Video Editor
Cinematic. Surreal. Rhythm-obsessed.
We’re looking for a music video editor with a strong visual point of view, real musical instinct, and a taste for the unexpected. Someone who can cut with rhythm, emotion, tension, and atmosphere. Someone who understands how to make a video feel immersive, transportive, and a little unreal.
This role is for an editor who lives somewhere between cinema, art, music, fashion, and digital dream logic. You should know how to build visual worlds that feel elevated, strange, beautiful, and emotionally sharp. You understand pacing beyond the beat. You know when to glitch, when to breathe, when to hold tension, and when to hit with force.
We want someone who can bring a cool, contemporary, slightly surreal visual language to music-driven storytelling. Bonus if your instincts lean toward the atmospheric, the textural, the otherworldly, or the subtly game-like, where motion, energy, and image progression feel immersive and designed, not just edited.
What you’ll do
Edit music videos, visualizers, performance films, and short-form content with a strong artistic point of view
Build edits that feel rhythmic, cinematic, emotionally charged, and visually unforgettable
Shape narrative through pacing, juxtaposition, tone, and image selection
Cut to music with sensitivity to mood, drops, negative space, lyrical subtext, and emotional arc
Create work that feels stylish, immersive, and culturally current
Collaborate with artists, directors, and creative leads to push each piece beyond standard coverage-cutting
Bring texture, tension, atmosphere, and world-building into the edit
Organize footage, manage timelines cleanly, and deliver polished finals across formats
What we’re looking for
A strong portfolio of music videos, experimental edits, fashion films, trailers, or visually authored short-form work
Excellent instinct for rhythm, musicality,
Strong storytelling ability, even in abstract or non-linear formats
A refined eye for imagery, visual composition, tone, and cultural aesthetics
Comfort working in a visual space that can be dark, dreamlike, surreal, kinetic, or hyper-stylized
Someone who understands that the cut is not just assembly, it is world creation
Collaborative, fast, detail-oriented, and creatively ambitious
Tools
Strong proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro
Experience with After Effects
Familiarity with DaVinci Resolve, Photoshop, and other post-production / design tools is a plus
Comfortable mixing formats, frame rates, textures, archival footage, performance footage, and layered visual treatments
Bonus points
Taste for surreal image systems, digital textures, lo-fi distortion, hyperreal polish, or cinematic game-adjacent visual language
Experience with motion design, light VFX, compositing, or AI-assisted visual workflows
Strong references in music, underground culture, art direction, fashion, experimental film, or immersive media
The right person
You have taste, restraint, and edge. You understand music emotionally, not just mathematically. You know how to make an edit feel like a hallucination with structure, a dream with propulsion, a story with pulse. You can make things feel cool without trying too hard, and strange in the right way.
Here’s an even punchier version for a post:
Seeking a music video editor with surreal taste, gamer-adjacent visual instincts, and real feel for rhythm, story, and emotional pacing. Must be strong in Premiere, comfortable in After Effects and other post tools, and able to craft cinematic, artful edits that feel immersive, stylish, and musically alive. Looking for someone who can bring atmosphere, tension, texture, and world-building to the cut, not just assemble footage.
