Who We Are
Rareform Audio and Black Sheep Music are a combined music and audio post production house specializing in music for movie trailers, ads, film, and TV. We create music for the biggest campaigns in the world and we take that seriously. We are a small, tight-knit team of A-players who hold ourselves to an obsessive standard of excellence. We don't half-ass anything. We don't cut corners. And we don't settle for good enough when great is possible.
We are looking for someone who feels the same way.

The Role
This is not a basic admin job. This is for someone whose dream is to become a music supervisor — and who wants to start building that career for real, right now.
Trailer music is one of our main lanes and one of the most competitive spaces in the music for media industry. When a brief comes in there is no partial credit. The playlist either stops someone in their tracks or it gets passed over. You are the person sitting at that
Music has to live in you. You think in it, speak it, feel when something is right and when it isn't. The strongest candidates for this role tend to be composers and producers — people who have spent years making music and developing a deep understanding of how it works emotionally, sonically, and structurally. That background is not required but it is a serious advantage. If you are a composer or producer who has always found yourself gravitating toward curation — building playlists, matching music to
You won't come in with industry experience. You'll come in with an obsessive musical mind, a hunger to become one of the best in the world at this, and the drive to learn fast. We will invest in the right person. Over time this role grows into a Head of Operations position.
If you are sharp, self-directed, obsessed with music, and wired to make things happen — keep reading.
What You'll Do
- Receive client briefs and curate playlists from our catalog that match the vibe, emotion, and style of each request
- Decode what clients are asking for — sometimes reading between the lines to find the right direction
- Coordinate custom music requests — matching the right composer to the right project based on style, availability, and timeline
- Handle stem requests and instrumental deliveries
- Manage project communication and keep things moving without needing to be micromanaged
- Grow into catalog mastery so that briefs can eventually be handled end-to-end
- Identify patterns in briefs over time and d
What We're Looking For
- A genuine love for trailer music — you know the genre, the styles, and what makes a cue land
- Exceptional written English — you will be communicating directly with clients and your writing needs to be polished and professional
- Available on Los Angeles time — briefs are time-sensitive and we need you present during business hours
- Self-directed and proactive — you figure things out, you don't wait to be told every step
- OCD-level organization and attention to detail
- High integrity — this role comes with access to our full client relationships and catalog
- An A-player mentality — you hold yourself to a high standard because that's just who you are, not because someone is watching
Important Attributes We Hire For
We built our team around people who are infinite learners, self-directed problem solvers, trustworthy, driven, accountable, and high energy. If those words describe you naturally, you will fit here. If you need to be pushed to meet a basic standard, this is not the right place.
This Role Is NOT For You If
- You need step-by-step instructions for everything
- You are not genuinely passionate about music and the trailer music world
- Your English communication is anything less than excellent
- You are looking for a quiet, easy job with minimal responsibility
How to Apply
To apply, please record a short Loom video (3–5 minutes maximum) and paste the link in the form below. We want to hear you think out loud about music — this is the most important part of your application.
In your video, cover these three things:
1. Put us in your world. Walk us through the last piece of music that genuinely stopped you. Not what you think sounds impressive — the thing that actually hit you. Describe what it's doing sonically and emotionally in as much detail as you can. We want to hear how you think and speak about music.
2. Show us your curatorial instinct. You've just received a brief — a high octane action thriller trailer, building from tension to full chaos, needs to feel dangerous and cinematic. Without looking anything up, tell us the direction you'd go musically. Style, energy, instrumentation, tempo, what it feels like. Walk us through your thinking.
3. Tell us why you're built for this. Not why you want it — why you're the right person. What in your background, your obsessions, your skills, makes you someone we should bet on to grow into this role.
Applications without a Loom video will not be reviewed. Generic answers will not move forward. We are looking for someone who already thinks this way — not someone who can research the right answer.
