JOB OVERVIEW

We’re looking for an After Effects Motion Designer / Animator to help create short-form editorial explainer videos in the style of Vox and modern visual journalism.

This is not a basic video editing or CapCut role.

You should be able to take a script + voiceover and develop the visual approach yourself using motion graphics, kinetic typography, maps, charts, timelines, photos, documents, infographics, and other visual storytelling techniques.

Ideal skills:
* Adobe After Effects
* Illustrator / Photoshop
* Strong graphic design and typography
* Storyboarding and visual concept development
* 2D motion graphics
* Data visualization, maps, charts, timelines
* Strong storytelling and pacing

We’re looking for someone who can do more than animate. You should be able to read a script, understand the idea, and determine the best way to show it visually.
