We’re looking for a full‑time Motion Design Artist (After Effects Specialist) to join Jeong X (Jeong Media).
This is a hands‑on, production-heavy motion design role: you’ll live inside After Effects, building templates, systems, and high‑volume visuals for our documentary, news, and educational YouTube clients.
You’ll work across multiple brands, side‑by‑side with our editors, to turn good cuts into premium, story‑driven pieces with maps, archival containers, titles, transitions, and depth/blur passes.
APPLY HERE:
What you’ll do
You will
Design the motion system for each client
Build reusable AE templates for titles, lower thirds, info cards, archival footage containers, transitions, and “visual language” per brand.
Set up smart precomps, expressions, and project structures so you can move fast later.
Create complex story sequences
Animated maps with 3D camera moves, labels, and paths.
Timeline / process sequences that explain events clearly.
Multi‑layer compositions that combine footage, graphics, and text.
Handle depth, blur, and polish at scale
Create per‑scene blur maps and depth‑of‑field looks for many shots in a row.
Clean up and stabilize rough or archival footage with designed frames/containers so nothing feels “dropped on the timeline.”
Work across several clients
Support 2–4 active brands at a time (docs, news, long‑form YouTube).
Take a finished edit from our video editors and add motion that makes the story clearer and more cinematic.
Ship work fast and clean
Maintain organized AE projects (naming, folders, precomps) so others can jump in.
Take notes, turn revisions quickly, and keep quality consistent across dozens of shots.
What success looks like (first 90 days)
By month 3, you
Have complete AE template packs for each assigned client (titles, containers, lower thirds, transitions, map styles).
Are comfortably delivering motion on multiple videos per week (dozens of shots / scenes, not just one hero piece).
Can take a brief + edit and independently d
Communicate reliably in Slack, hit deadlines, and don’t need to be chased for updates.
What we’re looking for (must‑have)
Deep After Effects expertise
3D camera / keyframe animation
Multi‑layer comps and precomp management
Compositing and finishing
Real motion design taste: typography, spacing, timing, and how to make graphics feel “premium,” not cheesy.
Story-first mindset: you design to make ideas clearer and more engaging, not to show off random effects.
Strong map / sequence experience
Animated maps or similar 3D‑camera explainer sequences in AE (show examples).
Capacity for high output: you’re comfortable doing lots of shots per week once systems/templates are in place.
Detail obsession: you can stay consistent on repetitive work (blur maps, DOF, many similar shots) without quality dropping.
Remote team skills: reliable internet, good communication in English, can take written briefs and collaborate asynchronously.
Portfolio / reel required showing
Map / 3D camera work
Documentaries / explainers / long‑form
Premium YouTube or social work
Nice to have
3D beyond AE (Cinema 4D, Blender, or Element 3D).
Extra compositing depth: tracking, roto, keying, cleanup.
Strong design chops in Photoshop / Illustrator.
Familiarity with Premiere Pro and/or DaVinci Resolve for smooth handoff with editors.
Sound design or audio polish experience.
How we work
Full‑time, long‑term, fully remote role.
You’ll report to our post‑production lead and work closely with multiple video editors.
We care about ownership and consistency: we’d rather have one person deeply invested in our brands than 5 freelancers doing the bare minimum.
If you want to spend your days inside AE, building systems and shipping a high volume of cinematic, story‑driven motion graphics for docs and news content, we’d love to see your reel.
