JOB OVERVIEW

We are looking for an experienced Mortgage Loan Officer Assistant to support a busy U.S. mortgage broker.
This is a hands-on role for someone who already understands the U.S. mortgage process and can hit the ground running with minimal training. If you need to be taught the basics of mortgage lending, this will not be a good fit.

Responsibilities:
Support the loan officer throughout the mortgage/loan process
Review and organize borrower documents
Check rates and loan programs across multiple lenders
Assist with pre-qualifications and loan applications
Communicate directly with borrowers and follow up on outstanding items
Communicate with lenders and other parties involved in the transaction
Monitor loan files and help keep transactions moving toward closing
Update CRM and other systems
Provide post-contract support and general loan file management

Requirements:
Recent mortgage industry experience is required
U.S. mortgage experience is required
Mortgage brokering experience is strongly preferred
Strong understanding of the mortgage loan process
Comfortable communicating directly with U.S. borrowers
Excellent spoken and written English
Professional, responsive, and highly organized
Able to work independently without extensive hand-holding
Strong attention to detail and follow-through
Comfortable working with sensitive financial information
We are specifically looking for someone who can hit the ground running. This is not an entry-level position, and candidates who require significant training on basic mortgage processes will not be a good fit.

Schedule & Compensation:
Full-time, 40 hours/week
U.S. business hours
$8–$12 USD/hour, depending on experience
We are willing to pay toward the top of the range for someone with strong U.S. mortgage brokering experience who can take ownership of loan files with minimal supervision.
