JOB OVERVIEW

We are looking for reliable, detail-oriented Money & Personal Finance News Writers to join our growing editorial team. This role focuses on personal finance, money-related news, consumer issues, global markets, economic trends, and major world events that impact people’s finances.

The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of personal finance and economic topics and can quickly turn complex money-related stories into clear, engaging, and reader-friendly articles.

Work Schedule:

4:00 PM to 12:00 AM (Philippine Time)
Monday to Friday

Key Responsibilities:

> Write 4 original money/finance news articles per day
> Cover topics such as personal finance, Social Security, taxes, retirement, loans, savings, credit, investments, banking, cost of living, inflation, consumer finance, stock market trends, and major economic developments
> Cover major US and global news events that have an impact on consumers' money and financial decisions
> Translate complex financial and economic news into easy-to-understand, reader-friendly content
> Monitor breaking news, financial updates, economic developments, consumer trends, and money-related discussions
> Research stories using credible financial, government, business, and international news sources
> Monitor Reddit and relevant online communities to identify trending money topics, reader concerns, discussions, and potential story angles
> Use Reddit as a source for identifying trends and public sentiment while independently verifying information through credible sources
> Fact-check all information before submission to ensure accuracy and credibility
> Write clear, engaging, and well-structured articles tailored to a broad audience
> Create compelling, SEO-friendly headlines with strong click-through potential
> Identify timely and relevant financial angles that can attract readers
> Follow editorial guidelines and consistently meet daily deadlines

Requirements:

> At least 2 years of experience in personal finance writing, business writing, journalism, finance blogging, or digital publishing
> Strong English writing and grammar skills
> Solid understanding of personal finance, including loans, savings, credit, investments, retirement, taxes, Social Security, and cost-of-living issues
> Good awareness of US and global economic trends, financial markets, and major business news
> Ability to quickly identify newsworthy stories and financial angles that matter to everyday readers
> Strong research and fact-checking skills using reliable financial, government, and news sources
> Comfortable covering breaking news and fast-moving financial and economic developments
> Ability to simplify complex financial topics into clear, engaging content
> Familiarity with Reddit and relevant subreddits, with the ability to identify trending discussions and potential story ideas
> Understanding that Reddit should be used primarily for trend discovery, reader sentiment, and story leads, with claims independently verified through credible sources
> Ability to work independently and manage daily article output
> Experience with online publishing platforms or CMS is a plus
