We are a Los Angeles-based independent creative studio seeking a thoughtful, highly capable Mid-Level Brand & Production Designer for ongoing remote support.
Our work spans brand identity, hospitality, cultural and community organizations, events, editorial and publishing, photography, fine-art printing, and marketing communications.
This is not a Canva-based content-production role.
We are looking for a designer with strong visual judgment, excellent typography, sophisticated layout skills and genuine proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite who can work confidently within established creative direction while bringing their own intelligence and eye to the work.
The Role
You will work directly with the studio's Creative Director across multiple client brands.
Projects may include:
Developing layouts from established creative direction
Extending existing brand systems across new collateral
Designing and adapting event and marketing materials
Creating digital and social assets from approved key art
Building presentations, newsletters and editorial layouts
Adapting designs across multiple sizes and formats
Preparing signage, posters, flyers and other print collateral
Preparing professional, print-ready production files
Photoshop compositing and image preparation
Organizing working files, links and final deliverables
Creating polished first-round design explorations for review
Some assignments will be highly directed production work. Others will give you room to interpret a brief and propose a thoughtful design solution.
You Should Have
3+ years of professional graphic design experience and a portfolio demonstrating excellent typography, composition and visual restraint.
Advanced working knowledge of:
Adobe InDesign
Adobe Illustrator
Adobe Photoshop
You should also understand professional print production, including:
bleeds · preflight · linked assets · color spaces · packaging files · vector artwork · PDF preparation · export specifications
We care deeply about details.
Strong candidates will understand hierarchy, spacing, typography and composition without needing every decision explained to them.
You should be comfortable receiving feedback and iterating quickly, but also confident enough to flag something that doesn't look right or suggest a stronger solution.
Particularly Valuable
Experience with any of the following is a plus:
Brand identity systems
Hospitality or cultural brands
Editorial design
Event collateral
Large-format graphics and signage
Photography and image retouching
Adobe Lightroom
After Effects / basic motion
AI-assisted creative workflows
How We Work
The position will begin at approximately 10 hours per week at $15 USD/hour, with the potential for increased hours and responsibility as the relationship develops.
The role is remote and asynchronous-friendly. Clear written English and reliable communication are essential.
We are looking for someone interested in becoming a long-term creative collaborator, not simply completing isolated freelance jobs.
How to Apply
Please send:
A link to your portfolio.
A short introduction telling us about your design background.
Three projects from your portfolio that you feel best represent your typography and layout skills.
Your level of experience with InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop.

Please begin your application with the words “GOOD TYPE” so we know you've read the full posting.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to complete a paid design exercise using materials representative of the studio's actual work.
We value thoughtful design, strong craft, reliability and attention to detail. We're excited to find someone who wants to grow with the studio.
