JOB OVERVIEW

Work Schedule: Full-Time | Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (PST)
Compensation: $4.50 per hr - 40 hours per week
Work Setup: Remote

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Medication Prior Authorization Specialist Coordinator to join our growing healthcare team.

This role is ideal for someone who is organized, a fast learner, and experienced in medical prior authorizations. You will play a key role in ensuring patients receive timely care by managing and coordinating the authorization process efficiently.

Key Responsibilities
- Initiate and track prior authorization requests for medications
- Review and analyze patient medical records to determine authorization requirements
- Maintain accurate and compliant documentation in accordance with HIPAA regulations
- Follow up on pending authorizations and resolve issues promptly
- Stay updated on insurance policies and managed care requirements
- Collaborate with healthcare providers and office staff for smooth processing
- Educate patients about the authorization process and required steps
- Gather and verify clinical information including diagnoses, medical history, and prior treatments
- Communicate effectively with insurance companies, providers, and patients

Qualifications
- Experience in prior authorizations (required)
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and medication management
- Excellent English communication skills (written and verbal)
- High attention to detail and ability to multitask
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Experience working with US healthcare systems is a strong advantage

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with CoverMyMeds
- Background in outpatient or multispecialty practice
- Familiarity with EPIC EMR
