Job Overview
We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented **Part-Time Medical Virtual Assistant** to provide administrative and patient support to a healthcare practice. The ideal candidate has excellent communication skills, experience working with patients, and a good understanding of medical office processes.
Key Responsibilities
Phone and Patient Communication
* Handle inbound and outbound phone calls professionally.
* Respond to patient inquiries and provide appropriate assistance.
* Follow up with patients regarding appointments, referrals, and required documentation.
* Escalate urgent or clinical concerns to the appropriate medical staff.
Scheduling and Documentation
* Schedule, confirm, reschedule, and cancel patient appointments.
* Maintain accurate patient information and appointment records.
* Document calls, patient interactions, and follow-up actions in the practice’s system.
* Assist with updating electronic medical records and administrative forms.
Insurance and Administrative Support
* Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits.
* Collect and update insurance and demographic information.
* Assist with prior authorization requests and other insurance-related documentation.
* Perform general administrative tasks as assigned.
Referral Management
* Process incoming and outgoing patient referrals.
* Coordinate with patients, providers, specialists, and insurance companies.
* Track referral statuses and follow up on pending requirements.
* Ensure that referral documents, medical records, and authorizations are complete and properly submitted.
Qualifications
* Previous experience as a Medical Virtual Assistant, Medical Receptionist, or in a similar healthcare support role is preferred.
* Experience handling patient calls, scheduling, insurance verification, and referrals.
* Familiarity with electronic medical records or practice management systems.
* Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
* Excellent attention to detail, organization, and time-management skills.
* Ability to handle confidential patient information professionally and comply with HIPAA requirements.
* Reliable internet connection, computer equipment, and a quiet work environment.
