Job Opening: Remote Medical Virtual Assistant (US 9 AM – 5 PM EST)

Position Overview:
A U.S.-based Internal Medicine practice is seeking a dedicated, highly organized Medical Virtual Assistant (MVA). In this fast-paced, high-volume role, you will manage vital administrative workflows, handle continuous patient telecommunications, and support daily outpatient operations during overnight U.S. clinic hours.
Key Responsibilities:
• Call Management: Handle high-volume inbound and outbound patient calls, manage telecommunications, and document patient inquiries efficiently.
• Scheduling & Care Coordination: Schedule, confirm, and modify patient appointments; update demographics; and coordinate patient follow-ups.
• Patient Support: Provide exceptional customer service, assisting patients with care inquiries, medication refill requests, and general practice support.
• Referrals & Charting: Process outgoing medical referrals, file diagnostic reports/faxes, and update medical records in accordance with practice protocols.
• Administrative Operations: Manage online patient documentation, process administrative forms, and perform other tasks assigned by clinical leaders.
Qualifications:
• Education: Graduate of a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program.
• Clinical Experience: Minimum 2 to 3 years of experience supporting a U.S. Internal Medicine Primary Care practice.
• EHR Proficiency: Hands-on experience with Athenahealth and/or eClinicalWorks preferred.
• Compliance & Security: Thorough understanding of HIPAA regulations, patient privacy standards, and secure data handling.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written English communication skills with strong de-escalation skills and a professional phone presence.
• Workstation Setup: Dedicated quiet home office, high-speed internet, and backup power and connectivity solutions for night shift reliability.
• Professional References: Able to provide 2 to 3 professional references from previous supervisors or managers in U.S. healthcare virtual assistant roles.
