JOB OVERVIEW

Medical VA – Hospice Intake, Insurance Verification & Billing Support

Salary: $5.00–$6.00/hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM–5:00 PM MST
Employment: Full-Time
Location: Remote – Philippines

We're hiring an experienced Medical Virtual Assistant to support a U.S.-based healthcare practice with patient intake, referral coordination, insurance/Medicare verification, prior authorizations, and billing support.

We're especially interested in candidates with **hospice, home health, palliative care, or geriatric healthcare experience. Experience with MatrixCare is highly preferred.

What You'll Do

* Manage new-patient intake and incoming referrals
* Collect and accurately enter patient and referral information
* Follow up on missing intake documents and referral requirements
* Verify insurance eligibility, benefits, and coverage
* Verify Medicare information and primary Medicare status
* Submit and follow up on prior authorizations
* Assist with billing, claims, denials, and claim resolution
* Maintain accurate patient, insurance, and billing documentation
* Handle patient calls, scheduling requests, faxes, and administrative tasks
* Coordinate with clinical and administrative teams

MUST-HAVE Qualifications

* Previous Medical Virtual Assistant or healthcare administrative experience**
* Hands-on patient intake and referral coordination experience**
* Insurance eligibility and benefits verification experience**
* Experience verifying Medicare coverage/information**
* Experience supporting U.S. healthcare administrative and back-office workflows
* Strong patient phone communication skills
* Excellent spoken and written English
* Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through

Highly Preferred

* Hospice experience
* MatrixCare / Matrix experience
* Home health, palliative care, or geriatric healthcare experience
* Athena EHR / athenahealth experience
* Prior authorization experience
* Medical billing, claims, denials, and claims resolution experience
* Experience verifying Medicare primary status
