This position is for an experienced medical biller who has experience working for a United States-based mental health practice performing medical billing and interfacing with all major insurance companies. History processing or auditing claims for an insurance carrier is a benefit well. You must have experience with processing claims, appealing denials, and the insurance verification process. We specifically need a claims denial management expert who can efficiently collect on denied claims. Experience with TherapyNotes, Availity, Insurance Provider Portal, and/or a similar EMR/billing system is preferred.
We are looking for someone with a strong work ethic, excellent verbal, written communication, and computer skills who takes initiative, works independently, is friendly, and is self-motivated. Must have a good internet connection and be able to work US Pacific Time 9 AM-5:30 PM.
Skills required:
-Excellent English skills and the ability to interface with patients, physicians, and outside vendors in a timely, appropriate, caring, and efficient manner.
-Motivated, proactive, and a self-starter.
-Reliable internet connection is required as well as notice prior to any absence/sick days etc.
-Excellent written & verbal communication skills. Ability to communicate in written
-Hold excellent customer service skills and be professional, dependable, and personable.
-Must be efficient, accurate, and have a friendly confident demeanor.
-Be able and willing to multi-task & perform under the pressure of a busy mental health office as well as change focus and re-prioritize as needed.
-Highly organized in all areas of responsibilities and the ability to multi-task is essential.
-Possess strong computer skills (standard business, office, and medical applications including but not limited to Electronic Medical Records such as TherapyNotes, Google Suite (Google Sheets/Drive, Doc)
-Knowledge of HIPPA and Patient Privacy rights, at all times.
-A friendly and positive attitude is a must.
-Maintain a high level of customer service on the phone and in
-Charging patient responsibility fees, explaining these fees to patients, and dealing with dispute resolution
-May assist with other administrative tasks with the practice as needed
Education and Experience Qualification Requirements
High School Diploma Required
Minimum 2 years of experience with medical billing
Mental Health billing high preferred
Insurance Credentialing experience highly preferred
We are looking to fill a full-time position (40 hours a week). Ideally, the candidate will be able to work business hours Pacific Standard Time (PST) 9-5:30 PM. Training will be provided for tasks and they will be scaled up gradually. Please do not apply if you do not have the above qualifications.
