Medical Billing & Revenue Cycle Specialist — Full-Cycle Primary Care / Office Ally
Company: Coral Med Primary Care, Huntington Beach, California
Location: Remote — Philippines
Schedule: Part-time initially, with potential to become full-time
Pay: Starting at $5 USD/hour, with review based on demonstrated skills and performance

About the role
We are an independent, physician-owned primary care practice seeking an experienced, full-cycle U.S. medical biller who can create claims from scratch, manage accounts through final resolution, and develop the SOPs needed for an internal billing department. You must be able to take ownership, solve problems independently, and establish organized workflows with minimal day-to-day direction.
Initially, you will review our existing billing company’s work, reconcile encounters and claims, maintain our tracker, and resolve assigned unpaid claims, denials, and underpayments. You may subsequently assume responsibility for full-cycle billing.
This is not an entry-level position.
Responsibilities
* Verify eligibility, benefits, network status, HMO PCP/IPA assignment, authorization requirements, and primary/secondary payer order.
* Reconcile completed visits with charges; create and review claims using documentation, codes, modifiers, units, and payer requirements. Obtain physician clarification when needed.
* Determine the correct payer destination and required supporting documents; submit through Office Ally, confirm payer acceptance, and correct rejections.
* Resolve denials, underpayments, and aged A/R through payer calls, corrections, and appeals; track deadlines, actions, and follow-up.
* Interpret EOBs/ERAs, post and reconcile payments and adjustments, and complete secondary billing.
* Generate printable patient statements, answer billing questions, and coordinate credits/refunds under practice policy.
* Maintain the billing tracker, provide concise weekly reports, and create SOPs that improve accuracy and prevent recurring errors.
Our payer environment
We work with Original Medicare, UnitedHealthcare/Optum, Blue Shield of California, Aetna, Cigna, Humana, Health Net, and CalOptima, including HMO/IPA arrangements through Regal Medical Group and ADOC.
Experience with capitation, encounter submissions, and separately payable services is valuable.
Required qualifications
* Minimum 3 years of hands-on U.S. medical billing experience; 5+ preferred.
* Proven full-cycle experience, including creating claims from scratch, payment posting, secondary billing, denial resolution, and A/R recovery.
* Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, communicate blockers, and develop clear billing SOPs.
* Working knowledge of CPT/HCPCS, ICD-10, modifiers, payer portals, clearinghouses, and EOBs/ERAs.
* Strong spoken/written English and Excel or Google Sheets skills.
* Reliable internet with backup arrangements, a private workspace, and commitment to patient confidentiality.
* OnlineJobs.ph ID Proof 80+; 90+ preferred.
Preferred: Office Ally EHR/Practice Mate, primary care/internal medicine, California HMO/IPA billing, Regal/ADOC, capitation, and senior or lead billing experience.
