The Birth Companions is seeking an experienced Medical Billing Specialist to manage Medi-Cal billing on behalf of our agency. This role will be responsible for accurate, timely claims submission and payment follow-up while maintaining clear communication with clients, providers, and internal tea
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and submit Medi-Cal claims on behalf of the agency.
- Verify client eligibility and billing information.
- Review documentation for accuracy and completeness.
- Track claim status, denials, and reimbursements.
- Resolve billing discrepancies and follow up on unpaid or rejected claims.
- Maintain organized billing records and protect confidential client information.
- Communicate professionally with Medi-Cal representatives, healthcare providers, and agency staff.
- Stay informed about Medi-Cal billing requirements, procedures, and policy updates.
- Provide regular billing reports and updates to agency leadership.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience performing Medi-Cal billing on behalf of an agency or healthcare organization.
- Strong understanding of Medi-Cal claims processes, eligibility verification, denials, and reimbursement procedures.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Proficient level of spoken and written English.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with billing software, electronic claims systems, and standard office tools.
