Pay: $5–$6 per hour
We are looking for an experienced Medical Billing & Claims Specialist with strong knowledge of the medical billing and insurance claims process.
This is not a basic medical billing position. The ideal candidate should already have hands-on experience handling claim denials, appeals, redeterminations, insurance follow-ups, and claim resolution. The selected candidate should be able to understand and manage these processes independently without requiring extensive training from scratch.
Key Responsibilities
Process, review, and follow up on medical insurance claims.
Identify, research, and resolve claim denials and rejections.
Handle appeals and redeterminations for denied claims.
Track outstanding claims, denials, appeals, and insurance payments.
Contact insurance companies directly to verify claim status, coverage, payment information, denials, and appeal requirements.
Determine appropriate next steps when a claim is denied or requires additional documentation.
Follow up on unpaid and underpaid claims.
Maintain accurate records of claims, denials, appeals, and insurance communications.
Investigate billing discrepancies and work toward timely claim resolution.
Perform other medical billing and insurance-related tasks as needed.
Qualifications
At least 1 year of hands-on medical billing experience or experience in a closely related healthcare billing/claims role managing US accounts.
Strong understanding of the medical billing and claims process.
Hands-on experience with:
Claim denials and rejections
Appeals
Redeterminations
Insurance follow-ups
Claim status and payment tracking
Insurance verification
Experience calling US insurance companies to verify information and follow up on claims, denials, payments, and appeals.
Able to independently navigate denial, appeal, and redetermination processes without extensive training from scratch.
C1 Advanced English proficiency with strong verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills.
Able to work independently in a remote environment.
Must be available to work full-time during EST hours.
Reliable internet connection and appropriate equipment for remote work.
Important Requirement
Candidates with only basic medical billing experience may not be suitable for this position. We are specifically looking for someone with experience managing US accounts who already understands denials, appeals, redeterminations, and insurance follow-ups and can take ownership of these processes with minimal training.
