About the Role
We are looking for a reliable Marketing / Social Media VA with strong video editing skills to support the
production of podcast, interview, and social media content.
You will take raw long-form recordings and turn them into polished, publish-ready episodes, while also
creating engaging short-form clips for social media and marketing. This role is ideal for someone who is
detail-oriented, consistent with deadlines, and comfortable working independently in an asynchronous
environment.
Key Responsibilities
Edit raw podcast and interview recordings into polished, publish-ready long-form episodes.
Remove dead air, unnecessary sections, awkward pauses, and other distracting footage.
Trim and clean up intros and outros.
Improve and clean audio quality where needed.
Create 3–5 short-form video clips from each long-form episode for social media and marketing use.
Add captions/subtitles to videos intended for YouTube and social media.
Prepare the complete video for YouTube publishing, including appropriate formatting and
presentation.
Create compelling YouTube thumbnails for each episode.
Upload or deliver finished content to the client's website, CMS, or designated platform.
Organize and properly hand off completed files through Google Drive/Google Suite or other
designated systems.
Communicate through Slack and promptly flag any audio, video, technical, or content issues.
Maintain a consistent weekly production schedule and meet agreed turnaround times.
Help reduce the client's personal editing workload by independently handling the end-to-end editing
process.
Essential Qualifications
Proven experience editing long-form videos, podcasts, interviews, or similar content.
Strong ability to identify and remove dead air, unnecessary sections, and awkward pauses.
Experience cleaning up and improving audio quality.
Ability to turn long-form recordings into engaging short-form social media clips.
Experience adding captions/subtitles to video content.
Ability to create or prepare YouTube thumbnails.
Comfortable working asynchronously using Slack and Google Suite/Google Drive.
Highly reliable and able to consistently meet recurring weekly deadlines.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Preferred Qualifications
Hands-on experience using Riverside.fm.
Experience uploading or publishing video content to a website or CMS.
Basic understanding of AI tools, AI workflows, or automation tools.
Previous experience creating content for a coaching, consulting, B2B, or professional services
brand.
Experience editing content specifically for YouTube, LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, or other social
platforms.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Success in this role will be measured by:
48–72 hour turnaround: Deliver each completed long-form episode within 48–72 hours of receiving
the raw recording.
Consistent weekly output: Produce publish-ready long-form episodes and accompanying short
form clips every week.
3–5 short-form clips per episode: Create 3–5 usable social media clips from each long-form
recording.
YouTube-ready content: Deliver fully edited videos with captions and supporting assets required for
publishing.
Thumbnail completion: Provide a suitable YouTube thumbnail for each episode.
Quality: Deliver clean, polished, publish-ready content with minimal revisions required.
Issue identification: Proactively flag audio, video, or content issues rather than allowing problems
to reach the publishing stage.
Time savings: Reduce the client's current 1–2 hours of editing time per episode to effectively
zero through reliable end-to-end ownership of the editing workflow.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is someone who can take a raw podcast or interview recording, understand what needs
to be cleaned up, and independently turn it into a complete content package:
Raw Recording → Edited Long-Form Episode → Captioned YouTube Video → YouTube Thumbnail → 3–5
Short-Form Clips → Ready for Publishing
You should be comfortable owning the process from receiving the raw footage to delivering final, publish
ready assets.
