JOB OVERVIEW

We're looking for a senior Social Media Strategist to help us build and run repeatable content systems for our clients. This is not a posting scheduler role. We need someone who can take a brief, think strategically, and turn it into a clear plan that’s easy to execute.

You’ll own the strategy side, guide the content direction, and manage the workflow with our internal editors so content actually ships on time, on brand, and with purpose.

What you’ll be doing
• Take a brand brief and build a strong social strategy, including:
• Avatars and audience breakdowns
• Content pillars and topics
• Video ideas and series concepts
• Frameworks, hooks, angles, and messaging direction
• Clear filming guidance so content is easy to capture
• Competitor research and positioning analysis, Australian market awareness matters here
• Idea generation and topic research, strong judgement over chasing trends, focus on what’s worth filming
• Create polished strategy decks and content plans in Canva, presented like a proper client-ready deck
• Manage content delivery end-to-end:
• Maintain content calendars
• Brief editors and coordinate edits, you won’t be editing yourself
• Manage feedback loops, approvals, and version control
• Reporting and optimisation:
• Track performance, pull insights, recommend improvements
• Identify what to double down on and what to kill

You’re a fit if you have
• 5–10+ years experience in social media strategy, content marketing, and scripting
• Proven ability to write social strategies that actually translate into content people can film
• Strong creative instincts and structured thinking, you can generate ideas fast without losing quality
• Great taste, you understand brand, tone, and consistency, and you can keep content aligned
• Confidence working autonomously and making calls without being micromanaged
• Strong working knowledge of the Australian market, audiences, and competitive landscape
• Comfortable collaborating with editors, managing deadlines, and keeping projects moving

Deliverables you’ll own
• Strategy decks in Canva, structured, clear, client-ready
• Monthly content plans and filming guidance
• Editor briefs, feedback notes, and approval workflows
• Performance reporting with practical recommendations

Working style and expectations
• Remote role, async-friendly, but responsive
• Fast turnaround is important, we move quickly and keep momentum
• You’ll be working closely with Steven, Director at Ivory Media, and coordinating with our editing team

To apply

Send through:
• A short intro
• 2–3 examples of social media strategy decks you’ve built (Canva or PDF links)
• One example of competitor research you’ve done, even if anonymised
• Your hourly rate or monthly retainer range, and your weekly availability
• Any brands you’ve worked with that are relevant to the Australian market
