[HIRING] Long-Term YouTube Video Editor — Japanese Street Drifting / Car Documentary Channel — $ ---------- /Video

Hard Requirements (Please do not DM/apply if you're not a right fit)
1. Fluent English — You need to fully understand dialogue, voiceover, humor, context, and subtle storytelling cues.
Adobe Premiere Pro — All projects are edited in Premiere Pro. We will pass project files back/forth so I can make changes but mostly leave comments for the following revision
2. Strong Storytelling Ability — This is the most important requirement. You need to understand pacing, tension, buildup, payoff, retention, and when to let a moment breathe. I’m looking for a storyteller who edits, not just someone who can cut footage pls
3. Creative Editing & Sound Design — Strong instincts for music, SFX, ambience, transitions, B-roll, visual storytelling, and creative sequences. You should be able to take relatively ordinary raw footage and find ways to make it engaging, cinematic, and entertaining without over-editing it. Also the occasional high quality cool drifting compilation paired with music.
4. Skilled in Face & License Plate Blurring/Tracking — You must be very good at accurately tracking and blurring faces and license plates. And noticing things in the background that need blurring as well. This needs to be done thoroughly throughout our street drifting videos.
5. Car/JDM/drifting knowledge is a huge plus.

Hi there, it's been a long time coming, and I need some serious help on the editing front for my YouTube channel (Name: BrokeButRich. Second Channel: DriftWithRich). I'm looking for someone to work with for the LONG TERM. In the ideal world, I can pass up ~90% of the editing to you, but for now, and at least at the start, I'll probably still be writing the script and telling the story.

My videos follow Japanese street drifting/car culture and include cinematic footage, vlogs, VO, interviews, music and compelling storytelling. I've attached an example of a timeline for a high level street drifting documentary - if you think you can handle something like that, please apply :)

-Not every video will be like this, some will be heavier on the storytelling rather than spectacle

I have 2 channels right now, one for all the high-level production street drifts/documentaries and a 2nd channel for lower-key, simpler videos that I'm hoping you'd be able to bang out without my input (simple vlogs or fixing up the car).

Budget: Up to $250/video if we can get to the near fully autonomous point with little of my own input/editing. Also as the channel grows, which I have big plans for this next year, so will my editor's pay ofcourse.
Volume: As many videos as you can handle (I'm backlogged about 16 videos right now). But a minimum of 2 videos a month (ideally 3-4 though)

Please save us both some time and only apply if you're seriously interested in a long term partnership. Also if you're seriously qualified. I've been editor-hunting for too long now and I need it stop ?

-I will send you a test edit heavier on the storytelling side but ofcourse, with drifting too. Do what you can with my comments/notes, and if things work out, we'll finish the video and you'll get paid the full amount. If you give me a legit first draft/edit, but we don't proceed, I will pay you ~25USD for your time. Payment will always be AFTER the video is finished. No half/half, partial upfront, etc.
