JOB OVERVIEW

I’m looking for a skilled, dependable, and detail-oriented YouTube video editor to join my team on an on-call / as-needed basis.

This is a long-term opportunity for the right person, but hours are not guaranteed each week. Work will be assigned whenever new videos are ready to edit. This role is ideal for an editor who already has other clients and wants to add a reliable, recurring client with clear standards and a straightforward workflow.

I’m looking for someone who takes pride in clean, professional edits and understands how to make educational YouTube videos engaging without overdoing effects.

What You’ll Be Editing

You’ll mainly be editing:

Talking-head educational and informational YouTube videos
Content focused on clarity, pacing, and audience retention
Videos that need to feel polished, professional, and easy to watch

This is not a flashy “MrBeast-style” editing role. I want edits that are clean, modern, and effective.

Responsibilities

Video Editing

Cut mistakes, dead space, long pauses, and filler words
Improve pacing to keep viewers engaged
Add clean zooms, jump cuts, transitions, and light motion when appropriate
Insert royalty-free background music where needed
Add simple on-screen text, graphics, or visual callouts when useful
Follow editing notes and brand style consistently
Deliver projects on time once assigned

Thumbnail Design

Create high-click, professional YouTube thumbnails
Use strong contrast, clean layouts, and readable text
Design with mobile viewers in mind
Match the tone and branding of the channel

What I’m Looking For

At least 2 years of YouTube video editing experience
Strong understanding of viewer retention, pacing, and storytelling
Experience editing talking-head, educational, or commentary-style content
Good eye for clean, clickable thumbnail design
Strong English comprehension
Reliable communication and quick response time
Detail-oriented and able to follow instructions closely
Open to feedback and committed to improving over time
Able to work independently without constant supervision

Technical Requirements

Stable internet connection
Quiet, distraction-free home workspace
Computer or laptop capable of smooth video editing
Willing to use TimeProof for time tracking

Job Details

Pay: $3 USD/hour
Type: On-call / As needed
Hours: Not guaranteed; depends on content production

Location: Remote / Home-based
