About the content
I buy storage units at auction and film the entire process. Each finished video is 15–20+ minutes and follows this format:
1. Intro to camera — "I just bought this unit for $X, let's see what I found."
2. POV searching footage — the bulk of the video is shot on Meta smart glasses and a body cam while I dig through the unit, narrating what I'm finding in real time.
3. Value reveals — as items are found, big on-screen text pop-ups show what they're worth ("$87!"), sold eBay comp screenshots appear on screen, and money sound effects (ka-ching) play.
Think treasure-hunt / unboxing vlog pacing: the hook is the discovery, the payoff is the value reveal.
Style reference
Harrison Nevel on YouTube — same genre (buying storage units at auction, going through them on camera). His videos are very polished, pro-level work with a cameraman; I don't expect that level, but he's the right reference for the format: intro hook, searching footage, and value reveals. Example: "I Risked $1020 On An Abandoned Storage Unit..." —
Aim for a solid, watchable version of that energy: clean cuts, clear value pop-ups, and pacing that keeps people watching.
What you'll do
• Cut 1–3 hours of raw multi-camera footage down to a tight 15–20 minute video
• Aggressively cut dead air and boring searching — keep the pacing snappy
• Add animated value pop-ups, sold eBay comp screenshots (I provide the comps and values, you place and style them), and money sound effects
• Background music that fits the energy without overpowering narration
• Light color/exposure matching between camera sources (Meta glasses, body cam, intro camera)
• Strong hooks — the first 30 seconds need to sell the video
• Export in 1080p (YouTube-ready), organized project files
Requirements
• 2+ years editing YouTube content (vlog, unboxing, POV, or creator-style — not corporate)
• Expert in Premiere Pro (After Effects or CapCut Pro a plus)
• Strong sense of pacing: you know when to cut, when to linger on a find, when to drop a sound effect
• Good written English for on-screen text
• Portfolio with at least 2–3 examples of creator-style or vlog editing
• Reliable internet and your own editing setup
How to apply
1. Send a link to your portfolio (YouTube links preferred)
2. Tell me your editing software and how many years you've been editing creator content
3. Answer: what's your process for keeping a 15-minute vlog video engaging from start to finish?
Shortlisted applicants will be given a paid test edit ($10–$20): a short segment of real footage to edit in the style described above. This is the main thing I hire on — show me the pacing, the pop-ups, and the sound design.
