We produce documentary-style long-form content in the business and technology space for a growing YouTube channel. We're looking for one editor to join long-term and grow with us, someone with real talent who we can shape into a lead editor over time.
This is not a gig. We want someone who's done this before and wants to stay.
Who we're looking for:
You've held at least one long-term editing role with a creator, agency, or media company. We want to see you can commit, not just take one-off jobs.
You understand YouTube, retention, pacing, what makes someone keep watching. You watch it, you get it.
You have raw editing talent. You may not have cut our exact style before, and that's fine. We'll teach you our format. What we can't teach is taste and instinct.
You're adaptable. We'll start you on long-form episodes, but over time you'll move across short-form, teasers, and different video types as we grow.
You're reliable and communicate well. Deadlines get hit. Feedback gets actioned.
The work:
- Editing long-form narrative episodes (9–12 min) from multi-cam interview footage and B-roll
- Color grading and music/sound placement that supports pacing and emotion
- Short-form teasers and clips cut down from finished episodes
- Working closely with our senior editor, who'll train you on our format and review your cuts
Requirements:
- Strong DaVinci Resolve skills, this is our tool and it's non-negotiable
- A portfolio showing real editing range, not just talking-head cuts or template reels
- Stable internet and a machine that handles 4K editing
- Availability for occasional calls with some timezone overlap
The deal:
- 40 hours/week, ongoing, long-term
- $10 USD/hour to start
- Formal review at 60–90 days with a raise to $12–13/hour for hitting our editorial standard on independent cuts
- This is a path, not a flat role, we're hiring someone to grow into a lead, and the pay grows with you
To apply:
- Send your portfolio / showreel (links only)
- Tell us about the longest editing role you've held and what you did there
- Tell us one YouTube channel whose editing you admire and why
- Start your application with the word "[CODEWORD]" so we know you read this properly
Applications without a portfolio, the code word, or answers to the questions above won't be reviewed.
