We're hiring a Long Form Video Editor to cut content for our clients. Most of our raw footage is a single person talking to camera in a room your job is to make that visually impossible to click away from.
The standard we're editing to:
This video is the benchmark —
Notice how little of it is just the creator talking. Every few seconds there's something on screen: b-roll cutaways, tracked text, screenshots, motion graphics, zoom punches,
What you'll do:
- Source and cut in b-roll, stock footage, screen recordings, and screenshots to fill every dead beat in the talking-head footage
- Build motion graphics and VFX overlays — animated text, lower thirds, arrows, highlights, counters, callouts, transitions
- Composite: keying, masking, and motion tracking so graphics sit on the footage naturally instead of floating on top of it
- Write and animate kinetic captions that hit in sync with the speech
- Layer sound design — whooshes, impacts, risers, subtle music beds — so the visuals land
- Cut tightly: no filler, no dead air, no pauses left in
- Color correct and clean up audio for consistency across every video
- Hit deadlines and handle revision rounds without quality dropping
You might be a fit if you:
- Are strong in After Effects (or equivalent) — not just timeline cutting in Premiere or CapCut
- Can match a reference style precisely, not just "in the ballpark"
- Know how to find or build the right b-roll fast, and have your own asset/SFX libraries
- Understand retention editing — why each cut and each overlay is there
- Have a strong sense of timing and rhythm
- Are organized, detail-oriented, self-motivated, and take feedback without ego
To apply: Respond with links to long form videos you've personally edited — not team projects where your role is unclear. At least one must be talking-head footage you made visually dense the way the reference video is. For each example, note what you actually did (full edit, motion graphics only, captions, etc.) and what software you used.
Applications without proof of work will not be considered.
