Job Summary:
The Drayage Logistics Coordinator is responsible for managing and coordinating container movements between ports, rail yards, and customer facilities. This role ensures timely pickups and deliveries, maintains communication with drivers and clients, and helps resolve issues that may arise during transport. The coordinator plays a key role in keeping drayage operations organized, efficient, and on schedule.
Key Responsibilities:
Coordinate drayage shipments from ports and rail ramps to final delivery locations
Schedule container pickups, deliveries, and returns with drivers and terminals
Track container movements and provide status updates to customers
Monitor port and rail terminal availability, appointment systems, and cut-off times
Communicate with carriers, warehouses, and customers to ensure smooth operations
Resolve issues such as delays, demurrage, detention, or equipment shortages
Maintain accurate shipment records and update transportation management systems (TMS)
Ensure compliance with port regulations and customer requirements
Qualifications:
Experience in logistics, transportation, or supply chain (drayage experience preferred)
Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Ability to manage multiple shipments and priorities in a fast-paced environment
Familiarity with port and rail operations, container terminology, and appointment systems
Proficiency with logistics software, spreadsheets, and basic reporting tools
