JOB OVERVIEW

Local Launchpad helps UK trades and local service businesses — landscapers, roofers, electricians, plumbers, cleaners and similar companies — generate more calls and enquiries through Google.

We launched in June, already have paying clients, and are building toward hundreds.

We're looking for an experienced Local SEO specialist to help us build the SEO system behind the entire business.

This isn't a role where you'll be given a checklist of 30 SEO tasks to complete every month.

We want someone who understands Local SEO deeply enough to help us d ---------- what the checklist should actually be.

---

WHAT WE'RE BUILDING

We're building a highly systemised SEO fulfilment model for local service businesses.

We already have:
Paying clients across UK trades/home services
A WordPress designer/developer building our core website templates
Our own AI system hosted on Railway that generates client-specific website content
Automated WordPress deployment capabilities via REST API/ACF
A structured onboarding system covering 28 different local-service niches
Existing SEO methodologies that need to be properly audited and improved

Our AI system can ultimately create pages, populate website copy, generate metadata/schema and potentially handle things such as internal linking.

What we're missing is the SEO expert who defines the strategy and rules behind all of it.

That's where you come in.

---

WHAT WE NEED HELP WITH

Your initial job is to help us build and validate the SEO methodology that every future Local Launchpad client will run through.

That includes:

Site Architecture & Keyword Strategy

Determine how our homepage, service, category, location and service × location pages should work.

Help establish how we d ---------- which pages should actually exist based on keywords, SERPs, search intent and competition — rather than creating hundreds of pages just because our system can.

On-Page SEO

Work with our WordPress designer to define what every page template needs from both an SEO and conversion perspective:

Page sections
Heading structures
Keyword targeting
Internal linking
Local relevance
Metadata
Schema
FAQs
Content requirements

Our AI system generates the finished content at scale. You define what good output looks like.

Google Business Profile

Help us create a repeatable GBP optimisation system across 28 local-service niches:

Categories
Services
Descriptions
Photos
Reviews
NAP consistency
GBP/site alignment
Local/Map Pack rankings
Ongoing optimisation

Technical SEO & Migrations

Establish our technical SEO, launch QA and existing-site migration processes so we're protecting existing rankings and catching problems before sites go live.

Ongoing SEO

Help us answer a really important question:

Once a local service website and GBP are properly built and optimised, what ongoing work genuinely moves rankings and generates leads?

We don't want to sell pointless monthly SEO activity just so we can say work was completed.

Automation & AI

This is a major part of the role.

We want to take your SEO expertise and turn as much of it as reasonably possible into repeatable systems.

The aim is:

Expert SEO methodology → documented rules → software/AI-assisted execution → automated QA → human oversight

If you're interested in AI and automation as well as SEO, you'll probably enjoy this role.

----

WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR

You should have genuine hands-on Local SEO experience.

Ideally you've worked with businesses such as:

Landscapers, roofers, plumbers, electricians, HVAC, cleaners, drainage companies, pest control or similar local businesses.

UK experience is useful but not essential if your Local SEO experience is excellent.

We're particularly interested in people who:

Have generated measurable Local SEO results
Understand Google Business Profile/Map Pack SEO
Are strong on on-page and technical SEO
Can explain why something should be done rather than blindly following checklists
Understand site architecture and search intent
Are comfortable working with WordPress developers
Like building systems and SOPs
Are interested in AI/automation
Communicate proactively
Are willing to challenge us when we're wrong

You do not need to be a developer.

You also don't need to personally write hundreds of pages of content.

We're hiring you for your SEO judgement and experience.

---

THE OPPORTUNITY

This starts with a $1,000 paid project to work with us on auditing and building the core SEO system.

If we're a good fit, this then becomes an ongoing paid role helping oversee SEO across Local Launchpad clients.

As we grow, the goal is for you to move increasingly toward owning the SEO function, improving the methodology and potentially managing other SEO team members rather than manually completing repetitive fulfilment.

There is also profit-share potential for the right long-term person.

We're looking for someone who wants to get involved early and help build something, not simply complete a one-off freelance project.

---

HOW TO APPLY

Start your application with "LOCAL SEO" so I know you've read the post.

Then send me:

1. Your best 2–3 Local SEO results

Please include the actual websites/businesses where possible and briefly explain:

Where they started → what YOU personally did → what changed.

Rankings, Map Pack visibility, organic traffic, calls/leads or other measurable outcomes are ideal.

2. Your experience

How long have you worked in SEO, what countries/markets have you worked in, and what types of local businesses have you worked with?

3. Google Business Profile

Briefly describe your hands-on GBP experience.

4. Show me your thinking

A plumber offers 12 services across 8 locations.

Would you automatically create 96 service × location pages?

Why or why not?

Keep this answer relatively short — I'm more interested in your reasoning than receiving an essay.

5. Availability

How many hours per week could you realistically commit if this develops into an ongoing role?

Please don't send me a generic SEO proposal.

I'm specifically interested in real results, your personal experience and how you think.

Looking forward to speaking.
