About Us:
We are SESAMO, a chef-owned Italian–Asian fusion restaurant in Hell’s Kitchen, NYC. We’re passionate about delivering a unique dining experience and want to make sure more people discover us when they search for “Italian restaurant” and related terms — both locals and visitors.
The Role:
We’re looking for a Local SEO specialist to improve our Google Business Profile ranking and visibility in a highly competitive, high-density market. You should have experience getting restaurants or hospitality businesses into the Top 3 Google Maps/Local Pack for competitive keywords.
Responsibilities:
Audit our current Google Business Profile (GBP) and identify ranking gaps.
Optimize our GBP categories, descriptions, photos, menus, and posts for “Italian restaurant” and related search terms.
Implement strategies to increase keyword-rich, high-quality Google reviews.
Ensure NAP (Name, Address, Phone) consistency across all relevant local directories.
Build high-quality local backlinks from NYC publications, food blogs, and event listings.
Advise on local keyword targeting for our website and create locally optimized landing pages if needed.
Provide a monthly progress report with ranking improvements and actions taken.
Requirements:
Proven track record of ranking restaurants or hospitality businesses in competitive urban markets.
Strong knowledge of Google Business Profile optimization and local ranking factors.
Experience with citation building, local link outreach, and reputation management.
Understanding of structured data (schema) for LocalBusiness.
Clear communication skills and ability to explain strategy in plain language.
Bonus Skills:
Familiarity with NYC food/restaurant media outlets.
Experience with social media-local SEO integration.
Content creation for Google Posts.
Project Scope:
Initial 1–3 month engagement, with potential for ongoing monthly work if results are strong.
