Licensing Specialist for US Mental Health Professionals

Simplified Therapist Licensing is a growing startup that helps mental health professionals navigate the complex process of obtaining professional licenses in the United States.
We are hiring a smart, resourceful, and highly detail-oriented Licensing Specialist to manage client applications from beginning to end. This role involves researching licensing requirements, completing forms, requesting documents, communicating with licensing boards, and keeping clients informed throughout the process.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys research, organization, problem-solving, and meaningful client work. As our company grows, there will be opportunities to take on greater responsibility and advance into a senior or team leadership role.

Responsibilities
- Research licensing requirements for different US states and professions
- Prepare and complete licensing applications accurately
- Request transcripts, license verifications, employment records, and other supporting documents
- Communicate professionally with US licensing boards, schools, employers, supervisors, and clients
- Follow up persistently on outstanding applications and documents
- Review forms and records for errors, inconsistencies, or missing information
- Maintain accurate client notes, task lists, deadlines, and application statuses
- Draft clear emails and client updates in professional English
- Protect confidential and sensitive client information
- Learn new licensing processes and independently solve unfamiliar problems
- Escalate important questions, risks, and unusual application issues promptly

Required Qualifications

- Excellent written and spoken English
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Strong online research and problem-solving skills
- Resourceful and comfortable working independently
- Highly organized and able to manage multiple cases and deadlines
- Comfortable making professional phone calls and sending emails to US organizations
- Able to follow detailed procedures without losing sight of the larger goal
- Reliable internet connection and a dependable computer
- Willing to learn complex rules and processes
- Honest and responsible when handling confidential personal information

Experience with licensing, credentialing, healthcare administration, legal support, compliance, or executive assistance is helpful but not required. We care more about intelligence, judgment, accuracy, communication, and the ability to learn quickly.
