Legal Assistant / Paralegal – Remote, U.S. Law Firm (Full-Time)
Work Hours: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM Central Time (U.S.)
Location: Remote (Philippines)

We are a busy U.S.-based law firm seeking a Legal Assistant / Paralegal who can also handle receptionist duties. This position requires strong organizational skills, excellent written and spoken English, and the ability to support attorneys with substantive legal work while managing client communications and scheduling.
This role is best suited for someone who is highly detail-oriented, professional on the phone, and capable of managing multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced legal environment.
Requirements (Mandatory – No Exceptions)
Applicants must meet ALL of the following requirements:
Fluent spoken and written English with a clear American accent
Strong grammar and writing proficiency
Must be a licensed Filipino lawyer or hold a Juris Doctor (JD) degree
Prior law firm or legal support experience
Experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel)
Familiarity with legal practice management software such as
Clio,
MyCase, or
Lawmatics
Ability to work independently and manage competing deadlines
Technical Requirements
Computer with at least 16GB RAM
Stable internet connection (minimum 100 Mbps download speed) with backup internet access in case of outages
USB headset with clear microphone
Quiet, distraction-free home office
Availability to work 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM Central Time (U.S.)

Responsibilities
Receptionist Duties
Answer and direct incoming calls professionally
Respond promptly to online inquiries and form submissions
Schedule consultations and meetings for attorneys
Update CRM with accurate lead and client information
Legal Assistant / Paralegal Duties
Draft, proofread, and format legal documents, pleadings, discovery requests/responses, contracts, and correspondence under attorney supervision
Organize, index, and maintain case files (physical and electronic)
Conduct factual and legal research using online databases and public records
Prepare exhibits, trial binders, and hearing materials
Track and manage court deadlines, hearings, and filing requirements to ensure compliance
File legal documents with courts via e-filing systems
Summarize depositions, discovery responses, and other legal documents for attorney review
Assist in preparing immigration, family law, or civil litigation case packets as assigned
Manage billing entries, timesheets, and expense records
