About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented Legal Assistant Intern to support our legal operations. In this internship, you will work under the supervision of a Legal Assistant and help with day-to-day administrative and legal support tasks, including research on US state and federal laws. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to gain practical experience in legal support, compliance, and legal research in a fast-paced professional environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Legal Assistant with daily tasks and administrative support
- Conduct legal research on US federal and state laws, regulations, and basic compliance topics
- Summarize research findings in a clear, organized format (memos, briefs, trackers)
- Help draft and format routine legal documents (templates, letters, internal forms)
- Organize and maintain files, records, and document repositories (digital filing)
- Support contract and policy organization (tracking status, version control, basic proofreading)
- Coordinate follow-ups and help monitor deadlines (calendars, trackers, task lists)
- Perform other related tasks as assigned by the Legal Assistant or Legal Team
Qualifications
- Strong research skills and comfort navigating credible sources (government/regulatory websites, official publications)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- High attention to detail and strong organizational habits
- Ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism and discretion
- Comfortable using common tools (Google Workspace / Microsoft Office, PDF tools, spreadsheets)
Preferred (Nice to Have)
- Familiarity with basic legal terminology or legal documentation
- Experience writing research summaries or academic papers
- Interest in compliance, contracts, corporate law, employment law, or privacy law
- Prior internship or admin support experience

Compensation Structure (Task-Based Pay)
This internship uses a task-based compensation model, not hourly pay.
You are paid based on the completion of tasks.
- Estimated Total Task Hours: 500
- Average Pace: 8.33 task hours per workday
- Total Compensation (If All Tasks Are Completed on Time): $600
Participants may work at their own pace. Faster learners can finish early, while others may take longer; compensation is based strictly on tasks completed.
Fast-Action Completion Bonus
If you complete all assigned tasks before the 91-day internship deadline, you will receive an additional Fast-Action Bonus:
- $10 for each remaining working day between your completion date and the internship end date
Early completion also provides faster eligibility for the next-level internships
